  4. mark, if you think that is bad, imagine what your dipsys are doing, especially at the lower walleye trolling speeds and higher plane settings speed variation including inside/outside variation on turns causes significant depth variation. thats why you want to start well above the fish and then slowly work your way down to them the nature of the beast with weighted presentations, however the vertical movement in the water column is what makes these rigs work
  5. Gill-T thanks, I appreciate the response. I can see where the may be an advantage with larger torpedos for the deeper L.O. salmon, less so for the summer depth of Erie Walleye.
  6. Jim, what are the advantages of a torpedo diver over a snap weight for Erie walleye fishing?
  7. I hear ya on fish that pull drag thanks for the report!
  8. The Buffalo "Small Boat Harbor" has a fish cleaning station where you can fillet your fish and process and dispose the remainder of the carcass through macerators/grinders. These mechanical systems are frequently broken, causing the cleaning house to be locked closed. takes the authority forever to fix and reopen it, as its not a priority for them.
  9. mark, it was an early morning bite yesterday, the bite died when the bright sun came out
  10. decent day on the pond today, 8 yellows between 6-8lbs, dropped half as many. threw a little bit of everything at them. only the riggers were dead. boards (40 jets and 2-3 oz snap weights) and dispys produced. black/pink sgl hatchet harnesses, hammered copper/watermelon dbl colorado harnesses, chartreuse/pink-head reef 800 runners and chartreuse/red-head deep husky jerks DH-12. cranks worked equally well as the harnesses. short hour long bite between 7-8am while clouds were out, then the sun appeared and nada more ALOT of bait and FISH directly off Abino on the fence (60-65 fow), 1.6 mph down speed did the trick for us
  11. Nice going boys! I will give you a shout tomorrow if I get into them. [ Post made via iPhone ]

Lots of fish and bait 20-40 ft deep, and on the bottom. spread consisting of two riggers, two wire dispsys, two in-line boards with drop weights. each took a fish. colorado harnesses in copper/orange, copper/watermelon, hatchet in pink/black and small perch chattersticks. 1.7-1.8 mph down speed. lots of fish.... slow bite.
  13. Welcome and thanks for contributing to the thread. A separate thread for Barcelona was suggested, I don't have a preference, but this thread is the "Eastern Basin" and as good as any. many of us will be headed that way often the rest of the year and will post often.
