  1. I agree the blacks are great releases  the only problem is running them on a probe rigger  I want my bait above the probe  I use roemers on the probe rigger. The Scottie’s are good releases for sooons and 8 “ flasher/ fly. Trying to run larger flashers and meat behind them is tough. There is also a light and heavy setting on the Scottie’s. Slide the plastic clip that the tether is attached to toward the release for heavy and away for light

What does this have to do with 2nd amendment rights anyway ? Can someone explain ? I assumed it was the tax on hunting and fishing licenses...duck stamps etc. Etc. Does this tax apply when you buy guns and ammo?..?

Sent from my LM-V450 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

P-R act placed an 11 % tax on long guns , ammo and archery equipment  and a 10% tax on handguns. The monies collected MUST be used for outdoor programs

  4. There are two different species of flea. The spiny water flea and the fishhook flea. The fish hooks are the hardest to get off your line. They are tenacious. They also smell worse than the spinys

Spiny and fishhook waterfleas prefer large, deep, clear lakes, but can also be found in shallower waters. Spiny waterfleas move to deeper, cooler waters during the day and swim towards the water surface at night to feed, while fishhook waterfleas stay near the surface

this is a problem for us fisher people,  we fish deep for the salmonids , so we are in spiny flea territory , but our lines cut through the top layers and into fishhook territory. Hate the critters

Had this same issue several years ago.  Yes it is aging infrastructure but last time it was mismanagement as well.

I don't get it.  Chuck Schumer will have his face in front of a camera for anything.   He should have brought the pork home on this one the last time this happened.  Niagara Falls is a world wonder and should be treated with respect.

I wish Up Chuck Shumer would go over the falls. Without a barrel

  6. Also, keep in mind that just because your sonar is telling you that your bait is at 100 ft depth , it’s NOT   Your depth finder is actually a distance finder   It’s showing your weight at 100 , that’s 100 ft from the transducer , not 100 ft depth. Because of blowback , you may need to let out a lot more cable to actually reach 100 ft depth.

And I believe by law any fellow boater is by law responsible to assist a distressed boat

In the United States, a federal statute (46 U.S. Code sec. 2304) requires the master of any vessel subject to U.S. jurisdiction to “render assistance to any individual found at sea in danger of being lost,” so long as the assistance can be rendered without endangering the rescuing vessel or individuals on board. This law is a part of an international treaty (the International Convention on Salvage, 1989) which extends the obligation to mariners throughout the world. The statute includes criminal penalties that may include jail time for failing to render assistance.

Snap weights six foot in front of your lures work well' Side planer boards put your lures away from the boat where the fish flee from your boat in shallow water.  Long lines are a waste of time. In shallow waters snags are a big problem when stopping or turning the boat. Use floating stickbaits only, spinners or spoons are snag magnets. Water temperatures are needed to work warmer near shore waters. Dirty or muddy water has clear water under them with sunlight restricted by the dirty water. Fish hate the high sun usually after 8:00 AM you will move offshore to find more fish. J13 Rapalas are hot lures for Kings early nearshore in the spring. Big fish like bigger lures. Glow reds and chartreuse are good.

I’ve caught too many fish to count using long lines. I use neutral buoyancy stick  baits ( husky jerks ) to stop the problem of snagging bottom. A lot of early spring fishing is done in 5 ft of water

  9. We fished before boards were introduced. I fish the Eastern end of the lake. Oswego harbor to nine mile pt. Was our stomping grounds  loooong lines are key. In shallow water the boat spooks the fish , so very long ( 150-175 ) lines are necessary. Good luck

  10. All very interesting answers. I agree that Brandon is an inept , probably demented , total disaster. But we can put our money where our mouths are. I just sent a healthy donation to a BBB accredited Ukraine relieve website. I’ll buy less tackle and fuel if it means helping these poor refugees .  The US should open its borders to these displaced women and children.  Brandon doesn’t mind the illegal immigrants from our southern border. Let’s give these people a home. Temporary or permanent. And it’s time to think about stopping Putin before it’s too late. He doesn’t seem to fear radiation ☢️

  11. That “big rich company “ is assemblyman Will Barkley. He went to court and got a ruling that he owned 2.5 miles of prime fishing water on the salmon River  because he owned property on both banks of the river , he owned the bottom of the river   It is trespassing to wade the river in this stretch   He is making a fortune charging to fish , what I maintain is public fishing   If this    Pay for access continues , fishing will be limited to those that can afford the fees. The rich get richer.  No one should “own” a stream.
