  1. Prayers and condolences to you all, may God bless you and comfort you!
  2. Thanks for the replies, such a great bunch of fellow fisherman and boaters on this site! I do know that when it happens it is coming from the back lower end of the engine. I can't hear it coming from the drive unit as it is obviuosly under the water line so would have to pull it to check that. I had the drive off last year, and the gimble, drive shaft, and u-joint all seemed to be fine, but that was last year. That all being said, what is the best way to address the exhaust shutters? Not something I will do myself, so will seek professional help! Thanks again guys and good luck and safe travels out there.
  3. I have a 1989 4.3 Mercruiser that while idling in gear at trolling speed of 2.5 mph or less makes a horrible knocking sound. Throttle up and it goes away, also out of the water on the ears, there is no knock at idle. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
  4. That fish was a monster, congrat's! We talked to you guy's as we were heading out for the trip back to Syracuse. We did 3 nice coho's and one King about 18 pounds for our first ever trip out of Olcott. Beautiful marina and scenery out of that port, looking forward to coming back next spring. Will start hitting Oswego area heavy now. Good luck and safe sailing to you this year!
  5. I just bought 6 rail mount rod holders that I will mount 3 per side, vertically on my bimini top post. Freed up a lot of gunnel space as I removed the old scotty triple set, although I will be adding Big Jon dual diver holders in their place. All my lead core rigs are 8 footers, so I believe mounting vertically will let them swing out more freely from one another when released from the planer line, and negate the need for running 3 different rod lengths.
