  1. pic linked below. the screen is PERFECT... there is just a reflection from my camera's flash in the pic http://home.rochester.rr.com/artisticso ... rmin%20128
  2. Great condition on a used Garmin GPS 128. Looks and works like new. All original equipment included.... remote head w/ co-ax cable and mount, power cable and manual. Waypoints already set for many local hotspots and landmarks around the Genny. $100/BO for pick-up in Ontario, NY. Shipping is extra. Upgrading to Billy V's. Eagle 500C
  3. I found some nice size 3 stainless 120# cross locks at B & E. The smaller end fit's just right on the spin doctor's swivel and I left the larger, easier to operate end, for swapping flies. They are like these, but they are not Berkley's... Cross Locks I have a boatload of new ATOMMIK flies I need to start tying off.
  4. how do most of you terminate your flies to the Flasher/ S.D.?? Do you terminate each fly with a swivel for quick changes, or knot it each time you rig up? Seems after a few knot's you'd have to rig a new leader.
  5. you have to prep them at all before painting, or just blast them with some black paint?
  6. If anyone was to go with a plate, which one would you recommend? I have seen the two below and the Easy Troller seems to be better quality. Easy Troller w/ fins, or the Happy Troller?? http://www.hannaysmarine.com/2007_hanna ... ge0254.htm I really don't have the room to mess with bags. I bought some and they are still in the package.
  7. NK, Fishlander or Stinger?? Looks like a Fishlander??
  8. Gander and Dicks are stocked pretty good right now. Gander in Henrietta probably has the most selection.
  9. 2- 600ft. copper rigged 345 GTi's from A-TOM-MIK on the way
  10. the deeper you run them, the closer to the ball they can be...... 100 fow- closer.... 50 fow farther back. Flasher to fly depends on the action you want... short lead=fast/long lead=slow.... and how long your net is... LOL... Most instructions I see have 18"- 40" from flasher to the fly (for Kings).
  11. Used only a few times (new in August), great condition. Ran them as my stackers just fine. Model SF400A, 8' 6", rated 8-15# $30 for the pair..... local pickup/drop-off in Rochester area (between Williamson and Henrietta). [email protected]
  12. I run my riggers at a 90 off the back to clear the swim deck and prop. Works just fine.... just keep the tubing near the roller guide at the the end of the boom lubed real good because it trails back at about a 30 to vertical at trolling speed.
  13. Whats the biggest advantage with the copper set-ups everyone seems to be so hot on right now (besides the strength)? Not having to use downriggers to get depth, and keeping your presentation 500'- 600' behind the boat? I'm ready to make the jump, just looking for some more info.
  14. I used to stay at Miller's cottages on Big Rideau Lake and now they are closed. Anyone have any good recommendations for cottages up on Big Rideau?? I know there's others on the Rideau chain.... I'd just like to stay on Big Rideau and avoid the locks. I just put this on this forum because Rideau is know for bass, pike and musky.
  15. I guess a planer board setup..... and more tight lines
  16. Pump shot is like new..... the diaphragm was shot causing the low speed hesitation.
  17. With good 'ol gasoline that would be the way to go, but with the new ethanol/alcohol "thinners" they add, the gasoline is not good for much more than two months. If you have a full tank in the fall then you dilute the "bad" stuff down every time you fill up in the spring. If you leave it on the empty side in the fall, you get a mostly fresh tank when you fill up in the spring. I leave my boat indoor for storage, so moisture is not a great concern for me. I will still add dry gas and stable to what is left in the tank in the fall. A fresh fill up in the spring is all I'll need
  18. Pugsleys told me to leave the tank at 1/4 full or so. The gas today is so crappy that no matter what you treat it with, in the spring you will have junk. I tend to go with the guy's at Pugsleys....... minimal gas treated w/ stable, fill her up in the spring with fresh fuel and some dry gas (in case of any moisture) and let it rip!!
  19. Got her all rebuilt. I'll slap it on after work today and see how the pump shot is. The diaphragm feels real tight now and the carb is all set back to factory specs. She should stand on the bumper now!! All those days of drag racing paid off..... I rebuilt way too many carbs to count.
  20. My 1993 3.0 liter Merc has a stumble off idle. I did a tune up and replaced all the ignition components... cap, rotor, wires, plugs and set the timing. It still had the stumble so I started looking at the carb.... it has virtually no pump shot for the first 1" of throttle arm travel. I guess a rebuild is in order... the diaphragm is probably shot. I noticed the arm for the accellerator pump is in the middle hole. Moving it to the farthest hole on the arm would give the pump a quicker reaction... should I try that as well while the carb is off? It is a 2BBL Mercarb Y38 with an electric choke, side inlet, one idle mixture screw and says 15396A-4 on the body.
  21. What is the reference point from east to west.... the Genny?? I had decent luck with just spoons this fall and my largest King on a J-plug just 1/2 mile from the river. I'll gladly "hire" one of you big guns in the spring to take a ride on my boat and show me the ropes for a day.
