  1. Tim, Great pics and a great season. I agree with Ray on the work you do for the fishery and how you reprsent LOTSA. I would also like to add the detailed fishing reports you post each week. Thanks for your help and hard work. Lets put some of those kings in the box in May. Howie
  2. Austin, I used a pair of Big John rod holders. I took the holders and got 2 sizes of PVC pipe and made bushings to fit binside the holders. I drilled and tapped set screws through the holders and the pushings to hold the outriggers. This allows you to raise and lower the outriggers and remove them if you need to. The boat is stored now or I would send you pics. You can use just about any style holder you want to its just a matter of the bushings. Shade

  7. Southern Tier..Allegany County...Scio, Wellsville, Alma and Petrolia. These are between Scio and Petrolia. We have seen bear in each of theses areas over the past 7 years but these have been hanging around since early August and from the dates and times on the cameras they been coming in between 0500 - 0800, 1600 - 1800 and a few at 2300 - 0100. We really believe there a 3 bears and we have an unusual picture of 2 bears coming in at the same time. I will post some more tomorrow. Shade

  11. Being born in '51, I can appreciate they way it was back then. But I think you will find this very funny. I found out Friday that I have Diabetis and when I went to get my prescriptions filled the cost of the accu-check machine, the pinch needles and the tabes was over $100 plus the medication ($3/pill). My insurance covered most of it but here is the funny part. Last night I get a call from some American Group to see if I qualified for free diabetis tools and medication. I was told that I qualified for a tester, supplies and medication for for an added bonus I get A FREE ERECTION INHANCEMENT TOOL which guarentees and erection in 3 minutes. . I can not wait to see what this thing is but what a country...I could not get pills or equipment that could help me live with this condition but if ya need some help with erections freeeeeeeeeeeee. 12. Kevin, I went through this with my speed and temp units. If your SOG on your GPS says your speed is 2.5 and your SNT says your speed at the ball is 2.8 and your catching fish then thats the speed you want to maintain. The threads on this site will tell you your speed can be due to boat size, currents, wind direction, type of unit and a number of other factures. Run your unit based on your success. I run my SOG between 2.3 and 2.8 which gives ball speed between 2.5 - 3.1 and that works for me. Good luck buddy, hope to see ya in Olcott in September. Howie
  13. Why would you want an all in one unit when you have seprate units now? I prefer seperate units. Howie
  14. I like it Ryan. I will order on with my next order. Howie
  15. I only run cheaters with spoons as well. I run 10 - 12' cheater lines and I look at it this way. The spinny is either 8" or 10" and the leader from spinny to the fly is 22'-24' and the spinny rolls so when that cheater slides down the line your only asking for a mess. Now you can rig a stop so the cheater does not go down as far but then it's just another way to hook to sea weed. To each his own and run whatever works for you. I run mag spoons on the main line and regular spoons on the cheater, or regular spoons on the main line and SS on the cheater. I also like to run the same spoon or look alike spoons when I run cheaters. The last few times out we got more fish on our cheaters lines. Keep your hooks sharp. I sharpen the cheater lures each time I put them on keeps the landing percentage higher. Shade
  16. Ladyblugill, I stand corrected...see Steve there was a derby where boats caught fish.. Shade
  17. For someone who did not want to be a smart a$$ you certainly did not pull any punches Steve. If you recall Steve only the boat had to be registered for the LOC daily derby. To answer your question Todd, yes everyone must be entered who are 16 years and older as an adult, 10 - 15 years old as a youth. The charter captain and mates must also be registered and I think some charters get a some kind of pass but they can not enter a fish. You can get a one day registration. Shade
  18. The middle number is minutes. For instance Olcott is Latitude is 43.20.23 North, Longitude is 73.43.00 West. If you want to head to 25 line, out of Olcott, you would be looking for 43.25.23 on your GPS which is 5 miles from port.. Like Kevin said each minute NORTH is 1 mile, each minute WEST is 3/4 of a mile. What ever port you launch out of look at the GPS coordinates and you can not go wrong. This how it was explained to me as well and it worked. Howie
  19. badluck & King, The week end you are coming is the start of the Fall LOC, starts 8/19. It will be a little quite as far as sharing info. This is the $20000 derby. There will be a large number of boats out and with the weather we are having you will probably will be fishing deep, 24 - 29 line. Get bto the launch early Saturday. Give me a shout. Shade - boat name Hannah Christine - Ch. 68
  20. Thanks for the info. Shade
