  1. There is a product out there called Stern Saver I think. Just what you're looking for. Edd
  2. OK I will eat the frieght on this to the Lower 48 only. This package is a $200+ value. Edd
  3. I made a radio change to Lowrance this week so I now offer for sale my 3 year old radio + PA Horn @ $100 + $20 S/H. Vitals: Brand-West Marine (made by Uniden) Model-VHF600 Features-DSC; Triple Watch; Scan; all WX stations (US Canadian Intl); All Channels (US, Canadian, Intl); Instant 16/9; all rotary knob function on radio; Loud Hailer; Weather alert; WHAM capable and 1w/25w operation plus more. The radio ships fully functional with a PA horn for hailer. There is a slight crack in the upper/left hand part of the case. NOTICE! This radio has my MMSI number installed. The manual says you can program a user MMSI only twice, so if you make a mistake it would need to be sent to Uniden to be reset. This does NOT effect anyone that doesn't need MMSI numbers, or is looking for a second radio. Edd
  4. Henry it is Insight USA (nautic and lakes) and it is pre-loaded so you get use from both SD card slots. The transducer is 200/83 kHz. This bundle has just short of 5 hours of usage so, yes the price is firm if buyer wanted it right away. If I can wait to ship on 4/16 then I would reduce the price by $200. Edd
  5. I am moving on up to the newer LSS-2HD so I’m selling my LSS-1/HDS-10 Gen2 bundle (with latest firmware). I just finished mounting this gear and it only has 5 hours of water time so it is virtually ‘off the shelf’. The reason I am selling both is because I purchased as a BUNDLE. According to Navico I must also sell as a bundle in order for the new buyer to get the warranty and the 5 Year Service Advantage Program. They both work flawlessly and you can have them for $2300.00 plus $40 for shipping to the Continental U.S.. You save $300 off retail pricing plus your State sales taxes $$$ for a nice savings on a new bundle. I would like to hold these and ship on the 16th of April due to an upcoming tournament, but it is not a deal breaker! Edd
  6. Yes the pontoon can test you in rougher water. The third log will help smooth things out a little, but it is not a boat for the likes of the Great Lakes. Edd
  7. The new Lowrance HDS Generation 2 units feature StructureMap. This is relly a sweet feature being able to overlay the sonar downscan imaging right on to your map. Know what side of the boat your targets are on without fail! Great units. Edd
  8. I think he should trade it in for a bigger boat.
  9. The simplest way of doing this is with a Blue Seas product called Add-A-Battery. You can read about it here http://bluesea.com/products/7650 . It works fantastically on my boat for the past 4 years. It is also a good idea to add an onboard 3-stage charger you can plug in when on shore power or back at the barn. Edd
  10. Sort of right. Lowrance's broadband sonar allows the unit to vibrate their 200 kHz transducer at 83 kHz. Here is something very important to remember, and the type/style of fishing you do from your boat will make a difference. Because of broadband technology the 200 kHz on the Lowrance HDS will give you 60 degrees of cone angle coverage with the side lobes. Is that important? You decide.......at 100 feet in depth you will get about 115 feet of bottom coverage. This can be very important. Vibrating at the 83 kHz frequency you get a full 120 degrees (with side lobes) of coverage so, at the same 100 feet of depth you will get more than 300 feet of coverage. When you change to the Airmar you give this broad area up to gain much more sensitivity. Best solution is 2 transducers and the Lowrance SB-9BL transducer switch. Edd
  11. The King has spoken and he is correct. You can see what is available from Lowrance and Airmar for the HDS here: http://store.navico.com/Accessory-HDS/A ... Transducer Just remember that Airmar is selling 'sensitivity' which makes their transducers more attractive at depth. If you are fishing lakes with 100' or less, your OEM Lowrance ducer will be more than fine. Deeper than 100' the Airmar is worth the price. Edd
  12. Stan if you're going to make this type of claim, shouldn't you show both units with the same screen shot so we can make our own fair assessment? Let's be fair. Edd
  13. Correction. Airmar does make quality transducers for many makes of sonar, but they do not make the Lowrance 83/200 or 50/200 or the 200 kHz transducers that ship as OEM transducers. The P-66 T/M and the P-319 Thru-Hull (mine) are excellent upgrades to your Lowrance HDS units or the legacy units with the Broadband Sonar black box. Edd
  14. Complete 1.5" RAM electronics mount with locking knob and key. I used this on my HDS-10 without any problems on the water. Price is $75 Two Scotty downrigger locks #3130 with 2 keys each. These lock the tilt up base to the swivel base. Price for both is $45 Unused, never installed Lowrance LGC-3000 GPS module complete with quick mount plate, pole mount, and gaskets. Serial# 102722390 for $85 Price for all 3 is $200 or as priced each. All shipped to lower 48 included in price. Send PM to me. Edd
  15. Just thought I would correct this statement. The 5x would be SONAR only. Another difference with the 5x only is there is NO SD card slot for firmware updating. You must update with another HDS via network. For future reference on HDS units, the 'X' means sonar only; the 'M' (map) means CHART only; and no letter following the number means it is a COMBO unit. Edd
  16. I am selling my 2 year old HDS-10 in 'like new' condition. The unit works flawlessly and comes complete with Insight USA mapping card, power cord, gimbal mounting bracket, 83/200 kHz OEM transducer, and white hard plastic screen cover. The unit ships in the original box with original receipt and has 3 years remaining on the Navico 5-Year Service Program which IS transferable. Complete price is $1600. Please no trades. 17. I don't see where you guys have this taken care of so let me offer this. Press the PAGES key; Navigate to the Waypoints, Routes, Trails page and press ENTER; Toggle over to TRAILS; Highlight the trail to delete and press MENU; Scroll down to DELETE and press ENTER; Now you must start a NEW trail...... Press MENU; Scroll down to NEW and press ENTER; Enter what ever info you desire; Toggle over to the Record radial button and press ENTER This is also where you will go to change the trail color if you like. I change my colors from day to day when the patterns stay the same. This seems long but it really is quick, and it is quicker with the 8 or 10 using the softkeys. Hope this helps some of you. Edd
  18. The HDS line is very good and can be expanded on in a 'Plug-N-Play' fashion. The 6 soft keys (I like to call 'em HOT keys) and the ability to preselect 6 different screen viewing choices that are available at the push of 2 buttons, make the HDS-8 and 10 the more exciting choices of the entire HDS line. Here is another Screen Capture from my HDS-10 Edd
  19. Just a thought guys, but the ethanol in today's fuels has been known to deteriorate and break-down the inside lining of older rubber fuel lines. This can actually 'clog' the lines before the fuel reaches the filter. Had this happen to me, changed the fuel lines over to the new ethanol safe fuel line, and that solved my problem. Edd
  20. More often than not, your interference is due to the transducer cable routing. Did you run the cable alongside the trolling motor power cable? Or is it close to the TM motor? It's best to keep the transducer cable as far from other electrical sources as possible. A screen shot of the noise might help us better. Edd
  21. Mathew can you utilize the 83kHz with this ducer? I've been looking at their site for some time and couldn't find a high speed 1KW ducer in 200kHz only. Edd
