  2. mike, there is a big fish derby being held out of Meyers point this week end . if your gonna fish for bass or trout for that matter, think about getting into it. 15 bucks to enter 5 bucks for lunker pool. as far as help with were to go i'm not a bass fisher so i can't help you there, other than i have only ever caught one small mouth in the lake and that was on a flat line, early spring above the boy scout camp. rollie
  3. way to go guys, it's nice to take home a little jingle for a days worth of fun!! the blue bubble went 22 for 26 biggest one in the boat was 7 or 8 lbs. small enough that i didn't pull them out to get weighed.(didn't want split to laugh at us ) lots of fun with the R&R spoons, one triple and two doubles. big weenie bone yodler behind a dark green e-chip was the hot flasher/fly. did have a "big" fish on( pulled all the rods and was backing down on him when the hook pulled out!) this prompted me to run to gander and spend $160 on new rods with a little more back bone to them( fish hit the limpest rod in my arsenal of course) hope to see all again for the B&B derby!! GOD BLESS rollie
  4. mark, i may be interested in your autopilot, but need more info. if you could give me a call. i will pm you my number..thanks rollie
  5. rod, your "small" boat is still better than the "blue bubble" and three adults running six rods is a blast !! esp. in a 2' "chop" good luck!! rollie
  6. L.L. is in the freezer, and all leaders have been replaced(ready for sat.) will have another story after this weekend, fishing with a 5 yr. old and his granddaddy. i think maybe we will only run 4 rods max.!!! rollie
  7. late start..8:30 went west and south from meyers. set 120 fow. popped two l.l. on the boards 2oz. snap 50 up 150 back. R&R spoons. slid out to 200 - 300 fow. riggers parked at 70-90 ft. did six lakers 5+ lbs. largest about 8 lbs. now... here's the story!! decided to pop a rigger to change out the spinny/fly. about the time the spinny hits the surface a L.L. about 4 lbs. hits the same side weight rod. heads across the back of the boat and crosses the spinny line. this must scare the BEJESUS out of him because he dives and heads back the way he came dragging the spinny with him. boat is headed into a six mph. wind? i leave the wheel to grab a pole and the boat turns 180 degrees on a dime. this cause the down rigger balls to cross. both riggers were set with a free slider. the L.L decides to add more to the mess by coming to the surface and running back across both line that are on the surface. motor was then shut down for the next 45 min. or so trying to seperate the mess. memories are made of these.......... GOD BLESS roliie
