  1. So last year I bought a 21 foot crestliner commander thinking I would be able to fish Ontario anytime I want . Well surprise not so much . Its uncomfortable in 3 footers . Especially with two kids . Its fishable just not so fun . I would like to get more use out of the boat and start trolling oneida. I am just wondering how I need to approach that. What tackle do I need and where do I fish. I pretty much have everything imaginable to Target all species but any help would be awesome. I figured getting my two young Sons on some walleyes would keep their interest and sometimes they get bored with the on and off days on Lake Ontario. Also Oneida is a much more feasible and comfortable day trip for us. Thanks to all Sent from my SM-A505U using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  3. 33 and change from about 10 years ago . Dont think I will ever see it again . Lost an even bigger one that same day . Straightened out a Gamakatsu 2x treble hook. One of my best days ever Sent from my SM-A505U using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  5. Can someone please tell me what is comfortably fishable out of Oswego . I know a south wind is good to go . I have a 21 foot crestliner commander. It handles water well but gets pushed around easy . I will always have my two young sons with me as well . I feel like I wasted a day today by watching the wind forecast. West a 6 mph at 10 am today . I'm a weekend warrior with a boat payment I need to feel good about. So I need to make as many trips as possible. Got beat up pretty good out of Sodius point last month on a west wind . Kid barfing over the side . Lol thanks to all . I don't trust the noaa forecast it always seems wrong Sent from my SM-A505U using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. Any reports from Oswego would be awesome. It's my home port but have not fished there yet this year due to closure and harbor fest. Thanks Sent from my SM-A505U using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  10. Got my butt kicked there on Saturday. I fished from 730 am still noon . What day was best for you and what was your down speed and downrigger depth . Sent from my SM-A505U using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. Do you mean a clean meat head with no teasers and no attractor right off the down rigger Sent from my SM-A505U using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. Do you guys run them with teasers or clean . Also what is your go to attractor for them Sent from my SM-A505U using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. Where does everyone set in relation to the break . I have been driving them down into the coldest water I can find and then some just above. Not working well lately. I need to change something up . Sent from my SM-A505U using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  14. I believe I seen you today. You were launching your boat as I was pulling mine. If you have Green Hornet on the side of your boat and you were launching around 1pm. I should have introduced myself as I have seen your posts of on here a few times Sent from my SM-A505U using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. I finally got the new boat out on Lake Ontario. I never fished Fairhaven before but decided to try because of Harbor fest . I got schooled today. Have not been skunked in years on the old boat . Yes I threw everything I had at them other than cut bait because I did not have that. I did get a late start and apparently was fishing out in to deep of water. I guess you win some and lose some. I took one hit on the rigger and 1 rip on a dipsy nobody home. Apparently early action was in 160 to 180 Sent from my SM-A505U using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  16. What do you mean ? No place to park the truck and trailer ? Is it worth the fight or go to Mexico Sent from my SM-A505U using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  17. Atommik hammer / white 8 inch prochip Sent from my SM-A505U using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  18. Where can I get it in Oswego. I didn't realize how quickly atommik sells out of his . I won't make that mistake again . Thanks.to all Sent from my SM-A505U using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  19. Is it open yet and can you launch there still . Thanks to all Sent from my SM-A505U using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  20. If you are referring to the directions for my Fishhawk. Then yes I did read the directions. It actually states that the double swivel is only rated for 12 lb. So when I called Fishhawk they recommend using snubber with anything that heavier. I am running 16 pound shark weights. Other than that I'm not sure what directions you are referring to Sent from my SM-J327V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  21. Thanks to all again. So how does adding another swivel stop the issue of it going down too fast. It seems to me it's going down so fast with the short lead off the ball that the line then becomes parallel with the cable. I believe that is when my tangle is happening. I'm running Scotty snubbers and no Breakaway cable on the prob rigger . It is very annoying I never had this issue with my original mag 10s Sent from my SM-J327V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  22. Thank you to all that is where I thought it was. What's the point in having a high-speed rigor when you can't drop it with the switch. Sent from my SM-J327V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  23. So I am using blacks releases. I have been downrigger fishing for 15 years. So I know how to attach to the release. In two of the last three trips my line has been twisted around the cable and would not ever realise if a fish hit . The only thing different is I have a new boat and have upgraded my downriggers to the high-speed STX mag tens. Is something happening when the downrigger ball goes down so fast. Or is it just a coincidence Sent from my SM-J327V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  24. Thanks to all Sent from my SM-J327V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  25. I'm going to use my first ever copper rig this weekend. It's a three hundred footer and I'm going to get another one to match for the other side of the boat. I'm going to be running it off my big boards with some Scotty power Plus releases. Do I need to deploy the copper first before my Dipsy or can I run it right over top of my Dipsy. Thank you Sent from my SM-J327V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
