Yeah - I agree with Bob - I was talking to a guy that had some pike on the ICE and wanted to show some people his catch. He had no intention on keeping them. Few hours later - There sat (alone) 3 northern's in the 28-32" range on the ice.

I agree - I love seeing the musky fight through the ice.... I am an avid ice-fisherman as well however I can promise you I will never see a fish figh through the ice in person!!!!

Absolutely, I live on Lake Ontario (between) Braddocks and the Genny and I do catch them every fall. They will feed in the shallows to get ready to run the streams. I would throw a cleo with some bright colors at em. As salmonite mentioned, you have (way) better chance in the spring.

It's only October 10th. You will get runs all month.

They are going to fire up the old Russel Station Plant again. I have a neighbor who is in local politics who told me this a few months ago. I will try to find out when. There is an opening (a small trickle) at the mouth however like many have said, After a strong N. wind, it actually builds a wall of zebra muscle shells. I have seen Salmon drive that "trickle" to get up stream a few days ago. They do spawn in that creek.

This morning there were a few boats in 20fow and lower right around the river to Russel station.

gosh no! There will still be fish out in the lake by next week. Salmon river has already had a nice run up the river and this will continue through Oct.
