  1. Nice!! Them bows better run for cover now. Good luck
  2. Thanks for the input guys, Yes shadster sounds like we have comparable set ups. I'm sure my boat is a bit lighter without the livewell and center console. Less gear for sure. I am looking at the 80lbs 24 volt Minn kota with the iPilot and sonar built in. I could sure use some forward weight with the big 2 stroke out back and a 44lbs endura on the stern along side. I just want some bow control and the option of trolling at 2-3mph for a couple hours . I bought a new 55 thrust minnkota transom mount last summer and was disappointed. My 7 year old endura 44lbs actually pushed the smoker just as well. Time to try a bow mount.
  3. Hi guys, Wondering if any suggestions for a bow mount model for my 16 Smokercraft? I have been looking at all the usual players like MinnKota with the Auto pilot, the PV2 models. Some have a hand held fob for motor control/ steering some are foot controlled. Will an 80 or 70 LBS thrust model pull me around ok in 24 volt for a few hours should I want to shut the big 2 stroke off? My boat is not a finished model, I installed a floor and added some shelving but it really is still a 16 foot aluminum row boat ...Thanks ahead for any advice here.
  4. Lol, maybe Obama will tomahawk missile that sucker!!
  5. You guys are hardcore It looks blustery out there. Nice
  6. WOW, nice male rainbow there boss nice report, good job!!!
  7. I like to hunt with the same bow for a good time too. The Browning Heat I bought in 95 still shoots ok, it's just kinda clunky now and the top limb has a small crack on the outside laminate. Figure its time I'll pay alot more if the quality is there and I'll get 10 years or so out of it. I mean 8 or 9bills for 10 or 12 years of success
  8. I wouldn't follow that close behind him. The giant rainbows that follow that rig will flip your boat over.
  9. Anyone own one or know anyone that has one? Time for a serious upgrade. There is a new model for 2011? http://mathewsinc.com/product/mr7/ Any feedback on the Mathews bows or where to go to buy one? Proshop? Thanks Chris
  10. more rod holders than fish I will land in one trip.. Weekday shakedowns are sweet!! Sean, thanks for sharing... looking forward to your reports this summer outta Cayuga. Of course I will be dodging the bigger rigs with the homemade 16 smoker but there is lots a room on the big lakes. good luck Chris
  11. You guys keep kickin it!! nice
  12. nice!!Be really cool to see a pic of a 10lbs Pike dude.

  14. lilboat, you guys rock..looks cold but you landed a couple beauties..good job!!
  15. I know the south end of Hemlock is famous for big browns..have heard this I don't ice fish yet Man, by mid March these lakes are starting to open up so get with the regulars on this one. i hope the DEC patrols this much closer now that it's state owned. I see way too many undersized browns in coolers come outta there
  16. Nice fish!! Thanks for the pics! gettin the fever here For we small boaters a good leadcore set up is a must
  17. wow, never seen one that big. nice job
  18. Just incredible guys!! It's cool to see fish displayed from Seneca and the LLs are bigger than the lakers!! I'm sure with reduced boat traffic the bigger ones are also less spooky right now. How do you guys stay warm out there?? wow
  19. Great report thanks again Sean!!, that chicken wing stinger is hot in there this year. Something took mine for a ride saturday north of Sheldrake off the lead core rig and said goobye. This Okuma reel for the 36lbs lead core rig has gotta go How do you keep the little salmon off the spoons? Seeing the fleas diminish was awesome but there were seagulls laying on the huge weed mats on the east side all over Saturday. There was cleaner water midlake west side below Deans.
  20. Hey thanks guys, I'll keep to the west side and work south ..glad the fleas are subsiding
  21. Hi, I was wondering how the feas and floating weeds were on Cayuga right now? Is there a section or area of the lake that seems cleaner for trollers? I was launching at Dean's or Tfalls this weekend. Thanks ahead for any tips or info guys , Chris
  22. Tim, its like which policeman happens to pull you over and whether they issue a citation or not. Some do all the time so me do not. I am also not totally clear with the rules but it sounds like you unfortunately walked into a situation where that derby attendant was splitting hairs that day. If you announced your catch in line before 3pm it should have been weighed in..not cool Chris
  23. lyteline , what kind of wire do you have spooled up for your divers? I know the stainless steel line I have won't shake the fleas. Thanks Chris
  24. Fleas nasty outta Dean's Cayuga Saturday. Cleaning lines after 15 minutes each wire dip.
