  1. My brother in law sent me this video. ‘‘Tis the season Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  2. For heat I use a Buddy Heater and an old Coleman Tent heater (dome type). I don’t have power at the trailer and just use the lantern for light. I do however have a small 1500 Honda generator that I bring as emergency backup should I need it ‘Bout Time Mike
  3. I run a 25’ trophy. My setup is 3 riggers across the back and then rod holders on each gunnel. I always run the two corner riggers and dispys off each side. The center rigger either goes in or the rod holder can be used for copper down the chute. My best setup all season was three riggers, 2 dipsys on the starboard side, one dipsy on the port side and a copper off the board on the port side. ‘Bout Time Mike
  4. Had the same exact thing last year. Absolutely the worst thing I’ve done and I’ve done a lot (ex motocross racer). They clipped My nerve while prepping me for the actually surgery. They told me I’ll be at 60% the first year, 75% by the second and the best I’ll get back is 85% after 3 years. Hang in there. All I can say is do as much PT as possible. I did X Bow last year because i couldn’t pull my bow back. I lowered my draw weight to 52 +/- this year and now am just able to draw it back. Start low and gradually increase it. There is a light at the end of the tunnel believe it or not. Best of luck to you !!!! ‘Bout Time Mike
  5. Had a busted up 6 walk by me at 30 yards and hung out for 2 minutes. 4 on one side and other side was broken up. 45 minutes later doe and two fawns skirted through. I took video of them all. Action has slowed for me now Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  6. Not a single deer on my way to my Wayne county property. Very strange. Normally there’s a ton on my 40 + mile drive. Hopefully they’re just sleeping in today. Time will tell..... Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  7. Thanks everyone. An upgraded cot and it is working out great. Stayed the last two weeks and it’s almost like home 'Bout Time Mike
  8. Starting to get some good ones on camera. 30 minutes after dark. ‘Bout Time Mike
  9. Buddy from camp was in stand for 30 minutes yesterday and saw a buck up on the ridge. He hit the esterus can and he came in on a dime. Best thing is he had his trail cam running on video and caught the whole thing ‘Bout Time Mike
  10. After looking at some YouTube videos and doing some research I installed a homemade phone/video holder to try this year. “L” bracket bolted with my stabilizer and epoxy from HomeDepot glued to the back of the belt clip of my cell phone. Just had to notch out where the lens is. It snaps in and out for easy removal. Hopefully will get some cool Videos to share ‘Bout Time Mike
  11. I hunt in a corner between a bedding area and a bean field. Only real way to access stand is walk along edge of bean field and take a 90 and walk along next edge to stand. This morning on my way in a jumped one deer out in the beans (happened before) so I thought “not that bad” then I made the 90 and it looked like the zoo let out. Must have been 12-15 deer all heading different directions needless to say that was it for the morning. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  12. Got out after the rain last night. Sat till dark zero movement on my end Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  13. I’m not a “huge” fan of it but can honestly say it’s allowed me to sit longer on crappy days. The older I get the less tolerance I have for being wet and cold ... 'Bout Time Mike
  14. Been in my stand since 6ish. The tree umbrella makes it tolerable..... 'Bout Time Mike
  15. Ready as it ever will be. Bring on the season !!!!
  16. Today’s progress.... floor sealed, roof tarped, benches built, and carpet installed. ‘Bout Time Mike
  17. I acquired a new piece of land to hunt (85 acres). It came with a “hunting camper”. I was given rights to do whatever was needed to make it “livable”. So far it’s been an advantage but I can start to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Did the ceiling and walls today, ripped out the flooring, will paint and new floor tomorrow. Wondering what pics everyone else has of their hunting campers. ‘Bout Time Mike
  18. I have 2 of these reels and they are great. I only use them for a couple guys who have shoulder injuries or just can’t handle the regular rods anymore. Mine are loaded with mono and used for my riggers. Super smooth drags and so far they have held up great (6 seasons so far). As far as “braided line only” I believe that is just for the line counter. 19. Raymarine C series. adjust the gain and you can see anything you want ‘Bout Time Mike
  20. I’ve run them off riggers, coppers, and dispies. I’ve had good luck with “bloody nose, and green glow). I’m throwing it out there to see what other people do . Never too late to stop learning new tricks .... 'Bout Time Mike
  21. No flasher. I run them straight 'Bout Time Mike
  22. Now that J plug season is here, what is everyone’s favorite plugs to run, and what is your go to setback off the riggers? Do you run short leads or lengthen them out ? 'Bout Time Mike
  23. It can mean a lot of things : 1. Not interested in particular lure once up close 2. Not the correct action 3. Incorrect lead lengths 4. Not in the mood 5. Wrong speed causing all the above 6. Etc The most important thing is once a strike is triggered pay close attention to details. Depth of rigger or line out of dipsy, Setback from riggers (lead lengths) Speed (surface or downspeed) Direction of troll Direction of wind Repeat, Repeat, Repeat ...... You will often get strikes going one particular direction only to turn around and go through them again the opposite direction and not get bit. One thing to start with is a rigger with a setback (lead length) of 8-10’ and another one at 20’ +\-. Whatever one gets the strikes set the other to match. Let the fish’s mood that day determine your setup Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  24. Definitely the go to man on the south shore !!!! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  25. As the season gets near the end generally Bigger flashers will outproduce others. I run large flashers off rigger and long lines (coppers) and smaller flashers generally off my dipsies. With that said though last week 7 of my 13 hits came off a 8” spin dr and meat head off a rigger. Let the fish tell you on the day what they want. Just remember when using large flashers with longer leads you need to be conscience of the large spin radius and other lines Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
