  2. Last 3 morning I have seen zero deer. This morning on my walk in it looked like a party last night with all the tracks. Definitely late night movement for my area Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. Lol love it. This is so me right now Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. Last 2 nights sat on edge of thicket and harvested bean field. NW winds 20-30+ with 10” of snow made for zero movement for me. Did see just one set of tracks in snow from night before. Very slow Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. Setup on the edge of the thicket looking out. First time all season in a ground blind for me. Wind is really picking up and snowing now. 7A oswego county Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. Hunted Wayne county up by the lake this morning. Waterfowl hunters letting the lead fly. I’ve had a string of bad luck hunting lately (mostly self induced). In my stand at 645 this morning and shots everywhere. At 720 I hear the “train” coming through the swamp. Single file I counted 1-9 of them and not a single horn. So then I decided to take the largest one. Well it just so happened that it was the first one and by that time she was 40 yards away. I had a relatively narrow window to shoot through, but she presented a perfect broadside shot. Needles to say she didn’t go anywhere. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. First Thanksgiving I didn’t hunt. I stayed home and help the Mrs get ready for a big family dinner (25 people). My buddy asked last night if could sit in my stand this morning. I said sure. He was in stand at 640 and at 720 this guy walked by...... glad to see someone I know get him but still ..... Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  8. What’s the going rate out there for processors? I’ve been going to the same Place for 10+ years. Used to be $60 then about 3-4 years ago it went to $70. I pulled up today to drop off my deer and this years price is $85 Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. Took 2 doe Saturday morning over in Wayne County. I’ve been hunting home (7A) past 2 days. Very little movement. Saw a total of 3 deer (doe, 6, spike ) 3 flocks of turkey ( 53 in all) Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. Wayne county - first shot 710 A couple singles since but eerily quiet for here Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. Woke up this morning to 18” of snow. Took me over 2 hours to get driveway clean. I put all Bow equipment away and got everything laid out for tomorrow’s opener. Then my phone rang ..... My prime land down South received 14” of snow and it’s still snowing. (Usually never has this much until late muzzleloader season) there is No way to make it to camp (over 6 miles up the mountain on a slate and dirt road) Plan B. Drove over to property 2 by the house and the loggers are out there doing their thing. I stopped and talked to them and they will be working through the weekend Plan C. I have one more property to hunt but it normally isn’t any good during gun - but hey it’s better than nothing .... Good luck to everyone out today and that makes it out this weekend Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. Sat from 1pm - Dark. Was on the edge of a bedding area where it meets a cut bean field. We have 2” snow and the only tracks I saw were turkey. No movement at all for me tonight in 7A. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. Very true Rich. There is truly something special about “outsmarting” a whitetail to be able to harvest one with a bow. Anyone who bow hunts knows that feeling of a deer within 30 yards or less. And that is why we do it. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  14. Showed up to one of my properties this morning to find this ..... scratch this one of the list Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. 47 where I am and I’m 100 yards from Lake Ontario. Not much woods to block the wind Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  16. Nothing for me in 8F except cold wind in my face ..... I did have a 3 year old 8pt last night come into the “can” call but hung up around 40 yards before taking off when the wind swirled Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  17. I sat today out. A much needed relax day as I’ve been hunting hard and out of town a lot. Living through everyone else today. Will be back at it tomorrow morning. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  18. Slow night for me in 8F. One small doe and that was it Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  19. Was down in 7R the last three days. Scrapes and rubs showing up daily. No daytime movement for us. Came home unpacked checked the radar, packed the truck, headed out and now sitting in my stand in 8F for the night. Very little sign here as far as rubs or scrapes..... Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  20. My property in 7R has BIG BEARS. The first morning to my stand I had my headlamp on and it created shadows from overhanging branches on the trail. I damn near had to turn around and change my shorts ..... Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  21. CONGRATS - CANT WAIT TO SEE PICS
  22. Walked my entire property in 8F. Found good runs but zero runs and no scrapes. Activity starting to pick up down in 7R with bucks seen during daylight and some scrapes opening up. Home in 7A not much going on yet. Everything still nocturnal with not much sign Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  23. Will the finger lakes chapter go to Newfield NY ( 20 minutes south of Ithaca ) ? I don’t need one now but it’s good to have someone if need be ....... ‘Bout Time Mike
  24. My first time ever bow hunting was out of a blind. Had 3 big does come in front of me at 15 yards. I pulled backed and just popped up enough for my sight pins to be on her. When I released the arrow I couldn’t figure out what the hell happened. Then I looked down. I did the same exact thing. The arrow sits lower then my sights - lesson learned 'Bout Time Mike
  25. Get to my stand about 25 minutes before legal light. Climb up, get strapped in and get all situated. As I sit down my elbow knocks into my bow and down it goes 20 +\- feet. The arrow snaps in half and the string comes off, quiver goes flying etc. I packed up and got down, picked up all the pieces and head home. I loosen the draw weight, put it In the clamps and get the string back on. Next I have to reinstall the peep as that also came out. Tighten the draw weight back up after giving the limbs a thorough inspection. Take it outside a small adjustment on the peep and it’s hitting dead on. Back in my stand for the afternoon. I sure as hell hope it goes better than my morning did. 'Bout Time Mike
