  1. I prefer 2.1 - 2.2 as a start. If you are Marking a lot of “streakers” that come up to look but don’t hit adjust speed slightly to see if it triggers strikes before changing out lures ‘Bout Time Mike
  2. How do they ratchet, and lock in place? What is the length of the tube ? Where are they manufactured ? ‘Bout Time Mike
  3. The fish are in “pods”. If you see them or catch them work that area hard and move when it shuts down. They feed hard for a little bit then shut back down. The fish are moving fast lately. Your either on them or your not. I marked some bait and fish the last couple trips but a majority of the fish we have caught I have not marked. This leads to the theory of the fish moving in and leaving fast ‘Bout Time Mike
  4. No spoons. I had one rigged to go in but had first fish hit when setting up my spread with just 3 rods in and it was almost non-stop from there. Longest between fish landed and next hit was roughly 15 +\- minutes. ‘Bout Time Mike
  5. A quick but decent trip today with my daughter and her boyfriend Total tally was 5 for 8/9 in just 3.5 hours. Meat taking a majority of the bites but the big fish failing to a F\F combo. Riggers down 100-120 and dispies out 260-300 over 140-190 FOW ‘Bout Time Mike
  6. Started to show up last couple weeks pretty heavy. The other night they weren’t terrible. ‘Bout Time Mike
  7. Fished Friday evening. Things started slow until I figured them out. We didn’t move our first rod for 1.5 hours then it was on. We did 3 doubles and a quad all with just over an hour and twenty minutes. I worked waters just west of the chute between 140-210 with the 190-210 line being best for me. Riggers down 85, 100, and 110. Chinook divers out 190, 210, 225, high diver out 345 and a 500 copper. We ended the night 7 for 12 with 8 bites coming off meat and the rest flies. While in 200’ I was approached By NYS DEC along with Border patrol. They were nice enough To troll along with me and ask me some questions instead of making me pull everything and tie up to me. Satisfied they wished us luck and off they went. ‘Bout Time Mike
  8. Solid afternoon trip. Took my uncle out for his first trip this year. Fished from 3-7pm. Took a total of 10 shots landing 6. Mix of flies and meat. Dipsies out 240 - 350 and riggers 90-125. Worked waters from 140-200. Best of the day was 450 copper with stud meat rig. That took 5 bites. Most fish coming from 44-45* water ‘Bout Time Mike

  11. After meeting today, it was a very difficult decision but this years Wounded Warrior and Veteran Appreciation event has been cancelled. Due to COVID-19 we must put the safety of all our Veterans, Captains, and Volunteers first. Safety is our number one priority and with many having underlying health conditions and comprised immune systems it is in the best interest and health of everyone if we cancel. Again this decision was very difficult but needed to be made for the well being of everyone Thank you all for your understanding and patience as we tried to work through this My number one priority is the health and safety for everyone involved ‘Bout Time Mike

  13. Please be responsible and cognizant of all the rules and requirements. Especially when posting pictures on social media / on the boats / fish cleaning stations etc. A lot of hard work went into this and hate to see a couple “bad apples” ruin it for everyone. ‘Bout Time Mike

  17. Left the dock at 815 and was back by 1130. Worked west in 6-12 FOW. Small pockets of colored water spread around. 45-47 degrees. Fish came on a little of everything. Sticks off the boards, Small spoons off 1 colors, spoons off dipsies and rigger. best setup today was a small (2") scorpion chicken wing spoon off 1 color.. that took 4 shots. Ended the day with 9 browns and a smallmouth.

  19. Circumference, and how much blowback. Deeper depths achieved due to the reduced blowback. this is due to the more streamlined design that doesnt "push" as much water. it cuts through the water
  20. I’m in Clay (Syracuse Area). I sent you a PM also ‘Bout Time Mike

  23. I POSTED THIS ON THE FAIR HAVEN FISHING ASSOCIATION FB PAGE LENGTHY POST BUT PLEASE READ CONCERNING OUR NET PENS I received a call today from the NYS DEC concerning the net pen projects for NYS. As we know stocking numbers are reduced for 2020 to 845,000 Chinook Salmon for all of NY. They have decided due to the reduced overall fish count to ELIMINATE several net pen projects on Lake Ontario. I am very sad to announce that Fair Haven was on of those selected to be eliminated for the year of 2020. Their reasoning behind this was due to the number of current pen projects and the reduced # of fish it would give each pen such a smaller # of fish that the overall survival rate would not be as great as if they eliminated some of the pens and strategically placed more fish throughout the remaining pens I asked them for the possibility of Steelhead and/or Brown Trout stocking for Fair Haven for 2020. They will be contacting the Region 7 Fisheries Manager to discuss and in-turn they will contact Myself. I a hoping to have an in-face meeting with them to see what we can work out. As of right now the following pen projects WILL REMAIN part of the 2020 stocking program for Chinook Salmon: Niagara River Olcott Oak Orchard Genesee River Oswego River Salmon River Black River (Jefferson County) The following pen projects will be ELIMINATED for 2020 Chinook Salmon: Wilson Harbor Sandy Creek (Monroe County) Sodus Bay Fair Haven South Sandy Creek (Jefferson County) I will pass along any and all information as i get it. - Mike
  24. I used the chairs without the mat for many years. They have rubber caps on the feet and never had an issue with them sliding. The mat does work great for both comfort, Safety, and makes cleaning a lot easier. The Mat I use is an industrial mat with raised “diamond plate”. Best one I’ve found so far ‘Bout Time Mike
