  1. Sunday afternoon I saw quite a few small boats out that maybe shouldn't have been due to the conditions

You see two guys in a 12 ft with 2 footers and 25 mile gusts and you wonder.WE had our 19 ft, and it was being tossed around pretty good.

perch fishing is great but I wouldn't take any chances of getting wet.

  2. caught some nice ones today.fished bling though no fishfinder off the loop, caught a nice 12 lb pike also. What a fight on perch tackle thought I had a log till he took off

  3. Pulled my boat this weeka after we had that aweful blow. The wind and waves came into our harbor and broke a line and tossed the boat onto my dock.Well I got there just in time and got it straightened out ,no damage.

A note of appreciation.A Wayne County Sheriff came by and said he would check on the boats later so I could go home.

Fall can be a tricky time with weather.Better be safe than sorry.

Hopefully next year will bring good summer west winds and lots of kings early.

Onto the ducks and perch .

  4. talked to local dive boat captain today.he reported seeing many schools of smallies 18-20 ft of water from pultneyville to bear through the summer .More than in the 2013 season.

  5. Glad to see you back les.How was your trip? The smallies realy turned on lately surprised so few are out fishing for them. But the lake is way down again wondering whether Ill need to have it pulled to save on the truck

  6. went out last night and also this morning. The wind was pretty strong which made it hard to anchor having a big boat can be a disadvantage  especially with bass.I did mark alot of bass from 40 to 15 ft..Well from what I hear from others bass has been a lot better this year than last.I ended catching two nice rainbows on green glow j plugs of all lures.

The fish I have caught were very healthy and "strong".I hope they have a good winter and come back strong next year.

Ill have to give the worm harnesses a shot next year.

Hope next year I resolve my back injury which has cut a lot of my fishing ambition this year.

Fishing can be hard on your back.Especially if you spend a lot of time sitting .next year Im going to a taller captains chair with lumbar supports. No more reaching to set riggers either. And don't forget being careful lifting those big fish aboard, lol

  7. Im consolidating all my reels to older penns.Mostly 320 330 and 340. I had a bad drag on one I bought on ebay and decided to fix it.many good repair videos on youtube on this subject. Now I can fix all my reels without sending them out.parts are pretty cheap also

anticipation is often worse than reelezation, lol

  8. there were a dozen trailers at the north ramps today.Boats were scattered as it was a windy day. Many of the boats were at the northend of Newark island if it helps.

  9. YESTERDAY I stopped in to local bait shop.Aperently the gobie has a great appetite for crayfish.

Has anyone caught smallmouth that has a lot of crayfish in them

  10. tonight was very good for bass.I caught several while trolling for salmon .Tonight I anchored and fished with nightcrawelers set 2 feet from the bottom, some of the bass were 18 inchers. Also saw quit a few boats along the lakeshore in close.Must be that time when the bass go on their fall binge before winter.hey if you tired of T&S nows the time to catch the "little bears"indian name.
