  1. we stayed there the first 3 weekends in april and had a blast. nice to come in a chill on the couch or shoot some pool or play the big buck game which we def sank some money into having competitions with some of diamond j's clients. good relaxing place with everything you need right in short walking distance. 2. woody, i thought of the cottages but the availability at them during fall loc is about the same as cottages on oak orchard the 2nd weekend in october. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  3. try the lodge right in town. its right across the street from abes waterfront, and captain jacks is right next to that. the tackle shop is a block away and a convience store a block and a half. we stayed there in early spring when it was still a bit cold to stay in the boat and the hospitality was terrific for a really reasonable price. you should be able to get a slip at warrens right up the street. hope ive helped. there honestly is not a lot of lodging around sodus. you can also check places like cherry grove campground and south shore campground but availability during the fall loc is probably very limited and your looking at a bit of a drive to any boat slips or bar and grills. 6. Nice trip. Guys were up yesterday and neither boat would run properly. Thinking it's a fuel problem, as there are a few other boats finding the same problems. [ Post made via iPod ]

  8. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): 6/16 Time on Water: 5-12 Weather/Temp: sunny Wind Speed/Direction: light south Waves: >1' Surface Temp: mid 60s to mid 50s Location: water LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 8 Total Boated: 6 Species Breakdown: kings, lakers, atlantic Hot Lure: stinger nbk, and a pink and purple honeybee. Trolling Speed: 2.6-3.2 Down Speed: Boat Depth: 60-90 & 280-330 Lure Depth: boards and deep riggers ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== fished yesterday morning and the pick seemed just a little slower than previous trips. fished inside from 60-80 or 90 for a little bit but ended up finding the skipper kings still loaded up in there. pointed to the nw and trolled for deep water. worked down to w07 or so and out to near 500. ended up finding some cold surface water on the way back at w03 in 280-330fow there ended up being a few in there that were willing to hit. took 3 lakers and a good atlantic in less than an hour and had a real good rip on the 90' rigger that we missed and dropped a 10+ steelie on the boards. still lots of trash out in front so use caution out there. 10. Noticing significantly less boat traffic at sodus as well. Doesn't help that fuel on the water is nearly 4.50 a gallon. The weather for the holiday weekend wasn't nearly as nice as some would like either. However aside from a few light showers this past weekend was gorgeous and I don't really recall seeing more than a few pleasure boats that weren't fishing. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  11. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name:Half Wired ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):6/4&6/5 Time on Water:5-12 and 5-10 Weather/Temp:nice Wind Speed/Direction:light Waves: minimal Surface Temp: 49ish Location:water LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 32 Total Boated:25 Species Breakdown:Steelhead, Slimers, Skipper Kings Hot Lure: Anything Stinger Trolling Speed: 2.7-3.1 Down Speed: Boat Depth: 60-255 Lure Depth: boards and deep riggers 80'+ ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS Saturday morning yieldedbig numbers of skipper kings on the inside water so we decided to slide out into the 300' range the further north we trolled the more the lake trout bite increased to the point of not being able to keep lines in the water so we moved back inside and decided to pick on the steelhead. we were very busy with only 4 lines trying to keep them all in the water. if it was steelhead and lake trout you were after ive never seen fishing quite so fast and furious as this weekend. we did a few steelies in the 10lb range but most were 5-7lbs. we also managed a 17lb slimer off the boards in 265 fow west of port. All lakers came off the gold watermelon C5 on the boards. now you know what not to use. Steelies were coming off the short riggers and the 300 and 350 surface spoons anything michigan stinger with 3 shots. Tight lines, Stu ====================
  12. Also is ya don't mind a bit of a drive. Hourish check out tillmans village inn on the corner of 98 and 104 between Albion and waterport the prime rib is quite tasty and the prices are reasonable. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  13. Nick, we will hopefully greet ur arrival back to home port with full boxes. Anxious to see what that heavy blow did to the temps. Looks like the lake should be decent all weekend though. See ya saturday. Tight lines good luck in the morning [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  14. not sure about marine weather sites but as im looking right now. its saying for tomorrow a west 10 or less and saturday west 10 or less with chance of afternoon storms wind becoming southeast. (SE is the worst for us getting into our slip)
  15. nick, the link you just posted worked for me. im assuming that was filmed yesterday due to the wind whipping through the mic on your phone. dang auto correct. it mistook wind for wing?
  16. maybe you caught them all, or hopefully you scared them east! looks like its gonna blow up tomorrow. eek
  17. give warrens hook line and sinker at sodus point a call
  18. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name:Half Wired ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):4/7,4/8 Time on Water: Weather/Temp:beautiful Wind Speed/Direction:light Waves: >1' Surface Temp:46.5-50 Location:water LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 10 saturday 4 sunday Total Boated:9 Species Breakdown:Browns/Atlantic Hot Lure: noodle rig Trolling Speed: 2.5 Down Speed: Boat Depth: all over Lure Depth:riggers 5-15' ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS had a solid pick saturday morning but after noon or so it got very slow. nbk seemed to be hottest. sunday was slow from the start. dirty water moved off, couldnt track it down. natural stuff seemed good. had a large flybridge boat just east of the chute nearly cut my lines off sunday morning. luckily i got them pulled before he cut my plugs off. looked like he had a boat full of clients. after saluting him we decided it was time to break down. we'll see that fella again this year. : ) oh yea, took one to warrens. 10lb 10oz. very nice average on the browns out there this season ====================
  19. forgot to add that as soon as the sun broke through the clouds and brightened things up i couldnt get a taker on anything. tried deeper, shallower, different plugs, tried some stingers. couldnt get a take. 5 hits on the orange kaboom and 3 on the black and gold jr.

Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: Half Wired ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):4-27 Time on Water:630-12 Weather/Temp:sun and clouds Wind Speed/Direction:sse/se Waves: >1 Surface Temp: 44.5-47.0 Location:east of chute LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 8 Total Boated:8 Species Breakdown:Browns, cohos, steelhead Hot Lure: kaboom all orange Trolling Speed: 2.5-3 Down Speed: Boat Depth: 6-25' Lure Depth: boards ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS Fished east of chute looking for warmer temps and some color. started setting up close to the end of the breakwall, took a shot on the first rod in while i was running the 2nd back. ended up being a solid 10lb steelie (very silver blueback) worked quite a ways east before taking another hit. once we got into dirty water the surface temp spiked from 44.5 to 47 in the mud. started taking hits on every pass over the break. ended with 5 browns 2 cohos and a steelhead. 3 of the 5 browns were around or over 10lbs as well. one with a great hooked lower jaw. all fish with the exception of the cohos were released. they are just too good in the smoker.
