great job

Well, Friday the buckets striked again, even though I had a trip at 3:30 pm, I didnt want to tbe at work anymore. I Got to the lake and hung out for a bit. Clients showed up on time and we hit the water. Ran north. No sooner than we set up, We hit fish. Stingers did the job for us again. Meanwhile two FF hits. out 260, white/green dot spinnie. We hit all species but lacked a brown for the grand slam. Lost two bigger sized bows at the back of the boat. For the bows we did Land, Clients honored our goal at one bow per trip to help build this beautiful species back to where it was years ago. We fished til 7:30. Finished with 9 qulity keepers, and ended with 12 for 18. They wannted to be the ones to set the hook. After loosing 4, they decided that wasnt a good idea Water temps were good on average 35-45 foot down. But there were sudden changes where temps were 60 down. Sarurday, the calm before the storm. Clients were Bright and early. We hit the water at 6 am and ran north again. This time I set up at where we finished Friday, took about 10 minutes and we hit fish. I was suprised that the bait had not moved nor did the fish. Justin and I parked everything where it was the day prior. These guys were great. They Loved every fish that hit the deck. We got a nice laker to start the day and had every fish in the boat on this day. GRAND SLAM, but the brown was the size of a coffee mug. Perfect eaters on the landlocks. Nice thick fillets for these boys. We hooked up with two good bows, one on a rigger and one on a cheater on the rigger. Both times they hit the surface faster than we could reel. The one we got to see tail dance alot before being ten foot from the net and SPIT... Cant land'em all.. Finished at 10 am. with 9 boxed and a total of 13 for 16.. mag wires parked at 215 and 260 High wire at 255. Riggers 66,77, and 30-60 depending on temps. 5 color cores took majority of bows friday, and 12 color core took salmon and lakers. 200 copper hit the brown and a few salmon. Pics to come Until next time, tight lines.

Well I was at work this morning and had a big case of the buckets(use a ryhming word). So i decided to leave at ten am when the rain let off. I went home packed lunch and dinner and drove to the lake. It was beautiful. Not even a breeze. Went out to try this new rod rule out. Lake turned. I can see bottom in 50 foot and Surface was 53 and 30 down was 42. Cruised around in search of bait, each time i found it i hit a landlock. Lost a few on the cheaters too when i went in shallow in search for browns. Headed in at 230 to get Mike(iron Duck aka duke). Got some gas, and headed back out. Ran north, wasnt long and we hit a few more salmon then wham, release, Shooting up to the surface was a 4-5 lb bow:) netted her. We didnt stay here long, As i was scouting for a trip i have the next 2 days. Hit the east side over 250-350 fow. Bait and fish are stacked. We hit some good salmon. Out of nowhere, mike decides to feed seagulls. Meanwhile at our backs, a rod has fired with a 6 lb Landlock..Go figure. We get her to the net. Got a few more good oens after that. Michigan Stingers of course. One ff hit today. Leadcore, riggers, wire spoon. heres mikeys fish Tight Lines Guys, See ya on the water

so, ya intentionally let one get off, and the fish gods still try to take your rigger? You better watch out Ed... by the way, Was it the low profile base that snapped? Didnt you buy some off me? -
Ed, I called them, they gave me there address too send them back and to which ones. She said they were going to charge me to repaint them all. I told her most of them had the paint come off with one or two fish, she didnt seem worried and said the leave that to their discretion.... I found it to be a joke, but they catch me fish. Now, NK and O&M spoons hold their paint excellent, why cant anyone else? I have had the same problem with warrior spoons. One fish, paints gone!! 4.59 cent spoon!!!! might as well fish live bait

Well, saturday i went out with some friends, Will, wendy and their two kids Kk and Michael And deckhand Joe. We ran north, set up just south of Rock Stream. Took a short time but we found bait. As soon as we did we hit fish. The first 5 fish were bows and then started mixing it up. Did only one laker. We fished 6-930 am and ended with 21 for 27 or so. mostly bows. Lost a good one on wire and rigger at boat. Michigan stinger spoons were on fire as usual. However, I have to replace the one with no paint again...grrr. It was wills wife and daughters first time trolling. Wendy managed to get a nice rainbow and salmon on the same rod. One on cheater and one on mainline. That was fun to net!! Sunday, I had clients from Oklahoma. I figured we could run to the same spot as yesterday and fish it. Well, the rain and water temps moved the fish and bait. We had to work for them. Only one bow hooked and she came off at back of boat. We went 10 for 17. Lakers, salmon, and a brown today. The mother of three, got lucky like yesterday, but this time with 2 lakers on one rod. A brute of a laker on the main and a smaller one on the cheater. She smiled all day and rubbed it in her kids faces! LOL!! Bait was south of rock stream more towards Watkins. Fleas were minimal for me compared to last week. Scattered weed pods made it tough.. Both days riggers parked at 77,66, probe at 50. Wire FF @ 200 and 220. Wire spoon around 230. 12 color, 5 color, 250 copper all took fish. Pictures to come. Nick [ Post made via Mobile Device ]

Seneca is turned off, this weekened should be good. the sudden change of winds saturday to monday messed things up. Went from a south wind to a north wind. The fleas are horrible. Use youe 30lb mono but with about 10 foot of fluoro at the spoon. Good speed on seneca for me is 1.8-2.5 I like to keep it 1.9-2.2.. What kind of Downrigger releases are you using? How long of a lead from ball to spoon?

Well, snuck out saturday with Justin and Rodney. We ran north to the honey hole. Wind was strong out of the South so we just pointed north and let the kicker keep us straight. We ran dipsys, riggers. We hit fish right away. Temps are changing and fleas were in the top 20 feet of water, after that they were gone. We hit Salmon and Lakers. Boated about 12 fish. Lost a couple good ones like always. Only two fish came on the flasher flys and many on cheaters and main line. Stinger spoons were my ticket.. Lake laid down and turned out to be a good day. Nice fire at justins after. Lakers, Salmon and a nice brown on the outside wire.. Sunday, 8/14. Had a longtime friend Mark, Aaron and Ben from the sister lake joined us. We Were running north when i realized the weeds were gone from the south wind. So i stopped and set up right in watkins. It didnt take long, once we started seeeing bait north of hector, we fired. Hit alot of good salmon and Lakers. We trolled north to Glenora and hit fish the whole way there. Had a slow point for a while, but then suddenly, Wham!! we had 5 fish on at one time. I had a laker hit the port rigger, then 3 more rods fired. Then one rigger tangled another wire, and as we were dealing with that mess, the wire fires in our hands. Then the Probe rigger fires, then the other and last line in the water fires(wire again). We hit those fish in seconds. Lost one of them. The one that casued it all! 250 copper was dead but the 12 color core was hot. Got both salmon and lakers. Had a laker on that we couldnt move. Mark was working her in then suddenly she just ssspppooiiinnngggg. Get the line in and wouldnt ya know it the Swivels Clasp straightened out...Guess her worked her a bit hard. Put the same spoon back down and fired shortly after again and again. we went 13 for 15. Thanks for coming Ben! Nick
