  1. I don't know about the slime but have always wondered why they never show them rigging the baits. Is there a trade secret or do they think it could be offensive to some.
  2. Is that a boat in pic #3? Hats off to him. My boat isn't mobile as I wouldn't make it back up my driveway now. You guys that live up there are very lucky.
  3. I don't think many people target kings with stick baits. We catch some kings in the spring while fishing browns with sticks but the kings will often tear stick baits apart. I have several sticks with the back half missing to prove it.
  4. Rick is "Da Man". I hereby nominate him to teach the LOTSA Salmon School next January!
  5. My two most recently purchased Convectors have terrible drags. Don't know why they are different than older ones.
  6. So where are they getting that data?
  7. It looks like the lake is 100% ice covered as of today. Did that even happen last year???
  8. No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public - Mencken
  9. +1 I've used both squid and flies and honestly don't see any different catch rate.
  10. I lived in a "Village" at one point. The neighbors were anal about everything and I actually witnessed the couple across the street crawling around their yard on their hands and knees finding and pulling weeds one at a time. It drove them nuts that I had dandelions in my yard. I didn't do anything to kill them off because I don't handle anal types well. Now I can't see a neighbor from my house and life is good.
  11. I spend more feeding animals than most people spend feeding a family. There's always 10lbs of dog food out for the 20+ raccoons I feed too.
  12. I've seen this before and I'll guarantee that they have not only survived but thrived. If that wasn't the case, there wouldn't be any to feed.
  13. I feed from December through April in PA. I enjoy seeing them and I'm sure I've helped them make it through some difficult winters. I don't know what regs apply and don't really care.
  14. Its all ok. I always believed that youth was about the beauty of the body and age was about the beauty of the mind!
  15. Now you're showing your age. The turn of the century is 2000. I know the feeling.
  16. That's interesting and it actually occurred to me at some point, but I never tried it.
  17. My boat is set up with 2 - 135hp outboards and a 9.9 kicker. Presently the kicker is controlled exclusively by a Garmin TR-1 AP. I'm thinking about replacing the TR-1 with a Garmin GHP20 to control the main engines for when I get into situations where the kicker can't control the boat because of bigger waves. Any concerns with the GHP20 controlling 2 outboards AND the kicker which would now be tied into the large engines via a tie bar?
  18. Just saw the strangest thing on WFN. Guy had two 300 hp outboards on his center console and was maneuvering them and they were turning opposite directions. The port outboard was turning toward the port and the starboard toward the starboard, What is this about????? How are they steering independently?
  19. For every difficult problem there is an answer that is simple, neat and WRONG!
  20. It's the "Appeal to Authority" fallacy. That's why it works.
  21. So if I run my spin doctor 2000' behind the dipsey, I should be able to watch it fly out of the water on every rotation. . Chris is right, the rotation will be the same as 6-8' back.
