Awesome! Nice Bows and nice pink John Deer shirt!

I have been running flasher fly combos on the copper. White and blue was producing this weekend. Two weeks ago it was green and white. I did run a hammer spoon yesterday the last half hour out of desparation with no luck. I probably going to try a couple of spoons again next time just to see. As painful as it is with the copper change it up to what works. The other day I ran a white spinny with big weenie homoezwhat fly and pulled 3 fish off it right away then it just shut down. I switched to something with blue in it and it picked up again.

I been mostly staying at 250'+ . Weeds are much better in the middle of the lake but we do go in about 150' occasionally but I stay out to avoid pleasure boaters also. Yesterday we did fine but we had a lot of down time with no hits and we were hitting some of our best spots. Not sure why but I would have to say it was the boaters, no wind and the sun high in the sky. We still had a good day. I switch a lot of stuff out through the day to what is working. Usually when I try changing something a rod pops off and it takes me a half hour to hour to change something up. We also throw crackers off the boat to please the fish Gods OH we pee a lot too. It just makes those rods pop. Lil troller I can't wait to go to my first tourney especially with these lakers we are starting to pick up. The wife did find some of my receipts. She was But she still Me

I have been running two wire rods for dipsys with spinny fly combos and I can't keep them in the water. My riggers I have been running more spoons cause I have been targeting the bows but I do run the spinnies on my riggers too. I also run spinnies on my 400' copper.

I launched at Longpoint at motored past sheld. Point at set up. Took awhile but we got in to some fish. Caught 3 legal ll's and 5 legal lakers with a few dinks also. started in the afternoon and finished when the sun disappeared. White and blue was the hot producer again. It took the biggest laker of the day weighing at 11.5lbs and 30.5 inches long. What a brute. Still no Bows going to have to try something different. Had a full boat today! Myself, Steve, Josh, The mail man Paul and Big Bob weighing 350lb at 6'8". Poor boat 11.5lb Laker

Yes I was running all spoons the first half of the day on my riggers set at 55' to 70' with a slider 3' leader and another spoon. 65' produced the most but just dink lls. After 1st half day I ran one rigger with a spinny deep for lakers and was pounded lakers and more dink ll's on it. I ran a cheater on it with the rubber band 10 to 15' from the spinny. My other two riggers just ocassionaly hooked ll's. I don't think we have been setting the hook though after we reel all the slack out but we arent loosing very many fish. Just that one hog that got away I was running my spoons bettween 10' to 25' from the ball trying to change it up.

Thats a nice laker. Its funny, two weeks ago my trolling speed was 2.3 to 2.5 and yesterday I did better 1.9 to 2.2 also. My lakers also had nothing in their bellys. Good luck in Medico!

Wow! Those are some nice browns!

Seneca 8-28-2010 - one more time ( w/pic)

Good job! Fishing by your self is challenging but it is worth it. Congrads! -
I'm thinking that is how we are going to have to do it with the riggers. It seems like we do lose a lot of fish when we pass off. Bows have got me stumped but not giving up on them yet.

After not being able to fish for two weeks I finally was able to head out. Fished from sunrise to sunset. We mainly fished bettween AES and Sheld. point. 6 rods= 2 dipsywire, 3 rigger and 400'copper. The copper produce all the fish early on then it was the riggers. The wire took awhile to start producing but when it did it was hard to keep them in the water. 10 to 11am and 3-4pm was our most busy times. We did have one or two times throught the day with no bites for almost an hour. We had 3 doubles and they were all succesful with one that I pulled a 10lb 30in Laker. We did have a triple but we only landed 2 on that one. White and blue was the hot colors of the day. Ran spoons on two of the riggers target Bows. Only picked up small LL's on them. Did loose something on one that was peeling drag, but it was short lived when the line went slacked. We did pick up a 4th man at 3 but before that happen we ha a string of bad luck. We sure did please the fishing gods with a all my cable of one off my riggers including my black release and ball It only had a 108ft on it anyways. We were busy at the time because the wire on the other side of the boat got wrapped over its self so we had to work it loose. We ended up cutting a 150' of wire off cause of kinks we got during then but had no idea we lost my rigger cable. I suspect we hit a pod of floating weeds and it forced my clutch to slip slowly while we were distracted. But thats not all. We also then got my copper and wire hooked together but that was an easy fix. We had a blast. I don't have my notes with me to tally it up but we must have landed a over thirty fish. We had 17 landed by 1pm and the second half of the day was more productive. Lakers and LL's only. Still can't hook the darn Bows. Released most but did keep 9 lakers to be smoked and our fish fry we are going to have 10lb Laker Double My set up Lamprey Small laker on the copper

I got the eagle claws and like them but don't love them. I would like to see them a little stiffer and an eye let more closer to the reel. When diver is deployed there is about a 110 degree angle on the wire at the first eye let which is fine but I think its a little to sharp of an angle for my comfort. They are still a great rod and catch fish but I think my next two diver rods are going to be the okuma classic GLT 10' dipsy rod 34.99 at dicks. I got the 8'6" downrigger GLT rods for my downriggers and just love them. Its really just a matter of preference. Diawa, Okuma, Shimano, Eagle Claw and Quantum all make a great rod that will last. I run the 10 footers because my riggers run at a 90 off the side of the boat and I need the wire to clear the riggers. Plus the longer the rod the more leverage you have. Also, better it asorbs the shock. Hope this helps. You really can't make a wrong decision on any of these rods.

Great report! Tough conditions but you fished hard and had fun. -
http://www.atommiktrollingflies.com/dip ... _combo.htm I just purchased these rods off of ATomMik. Great rod. You do need to buy the Twilly Tips. Easy to install. Another Rod that I like is the OKuma Classic pro GLT 10' Dipsy Rod. It also needs a twilly tip. I stayed clear of the roller rods just because they are mechanical and more expensive. Just a preference though.

I wish mine were seperate but I love my unit. I have the HDS Lowrance 7 now for about a month. I use the split screen option with the chartplotter on one side and the sonar on the other. I have no problems seeing with the 7in screen. I don't have side imaging but I may purchase it in the near future.
