Got out of work a little early, and my sister and friend wanted a boat ride, so why not try for a few fish? Headed out around 615 and was set up by 630. Started in 150 with a blank screen so started moving NW. Hit 170, and screen lit up with bait. Few minutes later, have one screaming off the rigger. After about 10 minutes, spits the hook. Dammit. Keep working 170, keep seeing a TON of bait, center rigger goes again and after a few minutes, a 22# hits the deck off a Stinger UV Frost byte. About 20 minutes go by and decide to clean the fish, get halfway done and the starboard rigger goes off. I grab the rod, and a half filleted fish falls off the board. So now I have a bloody board, bloody ass deck with half a salmon and fillet sliding around and two girls who won't touch a fish. Awesome. Few minutes later, net and released a king in the mid teens off of old school black and orange NK. The hose and brush def got a workout after that. A nice night on the water, 2/3 on kings with three rods in a little under two hours.....overall a successful night.
I might start with 2 Spoons of Riggers, meat on rigger and dipsy, FF on other dipsy. Then let the fish tell you what they want from there. But, I ALWAYS have meat out.
Paint one and not the other.....On my boat, everything that isn't intended to catch fish is black (weights, dipsys...). Not sure if it has any real effect, but who knows.
95-100 spoons. All but five or 6 have hooks. Mixed bag, a bunch of NKs standard, mag, couple Rebels, Pirates, ProKing......I will be at Niagara show Saturday AM. Just want em gone. $140 shipped, $130 picked up. Never hurts to shoot me an offer.
Why specifically a walk around? You tend to get less cabin space than an open or "typical" hardtop design. Both of which you can still get the the from fairly easy.
Instead of dropping mechanically with the switch, you can go slower by loosening the clutch. Give that a shot and go down slowly. If you are still getting twisted, move to plan B and look into what ifhishy suggested.
I figured all tracks are compatible, but I know for sure the Vector holders won't fit. The Craig holders might, but I won't hold my breath since all four of these were bolted to the gunnel.
This stuff came on a boat I'm not going to use.
1 Cannon mag 10, telescoping boom, swivel base $250
2 Craig rod holders (stainless looking ones) with base $125
Trade for reels (for copper)/copper setups
