  4. Backcountry78, Can't thank you enough for your reply. I am to get back into fishing after almost 30 year layoff, and have forgotten more than I ever knew. I did keep my flashers though and will be using them. What type & weight line do you run to your lure? I still have some Sutton spoons. Do you use any "meat" instead? Do you use a float or a second leader? It's been awhile. I have a A&S reel that has steel wire ... I see you use Copper? Don
  5. Seneca Lake What size mono to use between the 2# lead weight and the flasher setup? Do you recommend a snubber? Thanks
  6. Before I purchase a bow mount trolling motor I would like to know what to expect in noise on my sonar if I mount a transducer on it. Humminbird FF597ci HD DI. Just mounted and not fished with. Transom mount transducer. Any body found this to be a problem? Also if I buy one with Universal Sonar 2 is it supposed to be better? I would however loose the DI function with that. Regards & Thanks

  8. For a bow mounted trolling motor for a total boat weight (including motor, gas, equip, people etc.) of approx. 1300#'s. Should I go for over 55#'s ( that of course means 24 volts.) Thanks
  9. Outfitting my 16 ft. Alumacraft and still have no anchor. What would you recommend for Seneca & how much rope & chain? I hear the fish are deeper now with the clear water. Thanks!

  11. Just outfitting my 16 ft Alumacraft 16CS (no downrigger yet) but need a fishfinder. Any advice would be appreciated. Most of my fishing will be on Seneca (LT, Perch, Bass, AS,Rainbow etc. Almost always on the North end near Geneva. It seems confusing having been away from the sport for 25 years. I seem to have forgotten more than I ever knew. Down scan, GPS, color, .... all new to me. Regards & Thanks
  12. I understand that the Bass & Perch fishery is in a dramatic decline in the North end of Seneca. Is this true and if so what is the cause? Chemical runoff, Zebra Mussels etc.???? Thanks.
  13. If you have Dish or get WFN Network and want to see something a different, look for "Nice Fish" . A show about Salmon fishing with downriggers on Fly rods. Area is North Pacific BC / Vancouver. Great entertainment !!!!!!! Don
  14. Looking to buy a couple electric downriggers ... How do you like your Scottys? Do you run wire or braid on the units? Don
