  1. Stories like that are great! I once hooked a king (did not land him) on an old double jointed Pikey minnow (red and white) fishing the ESLO derby many years ago.
  2. Glad you caught some nice fish! maybe you don't remember but back in the early days of the eslo derby on the lake it was a nightmare like you just went through and I stopped fishing out there because of it, I sure am glad that its not like that anymore! I notice that the public ramps are not as crowded like they were so maybe the crazies have given up.
  3. Thanks much for the info! I'm sure that I would not like the crowd, that seems a little too crazy for me. Good luck this season!
  4. Great pictures! looks like you guys had a great time! I would love to try fishing for stripers sometime, can you tell me where would be a good place to launch in the Hudson? Thanks!
  5. Fishing out of Oak Orchard on Monday 5/7 I caught 9 browns, 4 of them had Lamprey marks on them and 1 of those had 2 marks on him, none of the fish actually had a Lamprey on it. What was strange to me was that these were the first fish in the past 3 years that I had seen with the marks on them so I wondered if this was something new.

  10. Don't worry with the costs of vehicle, boat & trailer registrations, inspections, insurance, gasoline, taxes & license fees and oh lets not forget health insurance costs there won't be as many boats on the water in coming years so the problem will take care of itself, so what the heck we might as well just add one more regulation to the mix no harm done its all for our own good anyway. Remember when hunting and fishing was a fun, inexpensive and uncomplicated way to do things with your family? if not then I guess you won't like or understand my post. Maybe I'm just getting old and out of touch.
  11. Does anyone really believe that the state of New York is really concerned about your personal safety? Its always about the money, just one more regulation to deal with. Most of the problems I have ever encountered on the water shows a lack of common sense or courtesy and I don't think that you can teach that.
