Try Tying a loop in the rope you connect your planner line to closer to the front of the boards this will help them track a lot better... I have a few loops tied in mine for depending on what I am pulling with them... Mike

Thanks guys...Sean, it was slow pickin but we did end up with 10 Lakers .. Weird thing was I could not buy a fish on a spoon or stick and we worked hard at mixing it up all day ... Launched out of the south end and ran to just south of the salt plant and Nick and Joe set up shop while I got the GoPro set up for some video... We ran cores, top lines,wires and riggers with the hottest being the rigger that was parked at 102 all day.. We tried a variety of spoons, sticks and ff's that have been very productive in the past ... Slow start but picked up our first fish at 8am on a spin doc and fly and it was a fish here in there til we called it quits... Wanna thank Nick and Joe for going along with me today and cant wait til next time already... Overall we couldn't have asked for a nicer day for a shakedown to start the year on the Duke... Instead of just pics this year, gonna try to throw some video in too, so here is a link to some video and some pics of today's trip... Mike

Actually would love to see them close all the feeder streams to the main tribs and put crossing areas in the tribs.. If we want our kids and generations to come to see any fish in the future we need to step up and do something now.... First off I like the idea off this tourney a lot and think its a great idea but don't necessarily think we need observers I think we could come up with something better than this.. Could we use part of entry money to give a donation to a local sheriffs department or private investigator to come in and give a lie detector test ?? Obviously if every person entered knows they are gonna be subject to a lie detector (which is used in many tournaments including the red cross) that will cut the cheating factor right out and save the time of finding observer... Who wants to be an observer?? No one wants to ride on a boat all day when fish are being reeled in and not be able to participate... Mike

Not in recent years but have caught some decent salmon down near the college.. there is a green water tower up on the hill same side as the college , use that as your marker... Have to be extremely careful tho it is a big bowl out in the middle and comes up really quick to about 25-the 30 ft of water.. silver and blue spoons were always hot in that area... good luck Mike [ Post made via Android ]

Only problem I see with having it on Saturday is if you do get into a monster your gonna wanna weigh it asap so it doesn't lose weight and the lake trout derby officials are gonna wanna hang onto the fish...
