Thanks for all the input guys, I'm going to keep up the research and see what my options are. maybe a winter project. probably going to have to winterize sooner than later with this polar vortex stuff floating around. talk about snow is september.... craziness.

So... I'm lost. I have a cable steered starcraft islander. I have a kicker. I was looking at doing a Tr1 gold, but then realized the lower unit would add to the steering no matter what right? I have an ez steer linkage but was thinking that might put too much pressure on the lower unit. then thought I'd get a raymarine for the main motor and just use the link to the kicker until I realized my motor has "power assist". So then i think it's needs to be in operation for the "power assist" to function. So now I'm just confused. Do i get rid of the kicker all together, boat trolls just fine but a quite four stroke is ideal, less stress on main... any input would be great!!!!!
