  1. My Dad, wife, and I launched out of Deans Cove around 6 am. We headed north running two riggers, two wires, and two leadcore. All rods eventually took fish by the time we left at 1:30. We ended the day with a total of 15, 10 of which were lakers. We got our first Finger Lakes slam. My wife actually got the slam herself. The highlight of the day was this 27" 11# rainbow my wife caught on a flasher/fly. We were still catching fish when we left, but the wind really picked up. [ Post made via Android ]
  2. I placed an order on May 10 and my credit card was charged shortly after. I still have not heard anything from them. [ Post made via Android ]
  3. Is that a track for carriage bolts running around the top?. If so i use 2x4 with holes drilled through for carriage bolts plus wing nut and clamp to that. [ Post made via Android ]
  4. I can echo that. We were out today. Didnt see any really good screens with concentrations of fish. Decent bait schools from about 60-100' and more scattered fish than other areas. We went all the way to 330'. We did pick up a mid size king and a tiny Atlantic first thing this morning. [ Post made via Android ]
  5. Does this mean the channel is dredged? [ Post made via Android ]
  6. It was foggy all day in Sodus. It was extremely thick in the morning. Felt like rain. [ Post made via Android ]
  7. You can say clear again. We fished there Thursday and could see bottom in 20' of water. Saturday there were some cloudy patches but the wind took care of those. The fog thick as butter all day didnt help Saturday either. [ Post made via Android ]
  8. I trolled there three times last fall. Caught over 100 lakers altogether. Only one was over 25" and fat. Most are 15-20" and skinny. [ Post made via Android ]
  9. Ive snagged bottom in about 65' going 1.3 mph with 9.5 colors out. [ Post made via Android ]
  10. I dont think they were landlocked by man. They made their way to Ontario and Champlain and established populations there. The Ontario salmon were fished into extinction by around 1900 if I recall. [ Post made via Android ]
  11. If there are hardly any left, maybe you are better off leaving them alone rather than trying to catch the few remaining for bait. [ Post made via Android ]
  12. Can you run mono through a twili tip without damaging it? I know they are meant for wire, but I am going to have four of my rods set up with twili tips to run wire and still want to use those rods for flat lining, boards, or mono dipsy by switching reels when I am not running wire. 13. There are as many trees as you care to snag. A few lakers and stripers too. [ Post made via Android ]

  15. Now that is a nicely decorated Christmas tree. [ Post made via Android ]
  16. After my Dad and I had a decent day at Cayuga yesterday, we decided to get my wife to go to Keuka for a laker bonanza. Our last two trips there were half days and resulted in 20 and 24 lakers respectively. The lake did not disappoint as we ended the day with 42 lakers. None over 24". We ran six rods but 80% of the fish came on riggers at 100+ feet. It seemed odd to me that the fish were so deep when last time we were here the water was 10 degrees warmer and we were able to catch numerous fish on dipsys, leadcore, and sliders. 17. Launched out of TFalls around 7:30. It was a bit windy. The little landlocks were on the feed and couldnt find many lakers. Fished until 2 with a final total of 9 landlocks (all less than 18"), 2 small rainbows, 2 lakers (one was 27"), and 1 brown trout. The brown trout was 8 lbs. This was our first brown trout from the Finger Lakes and our first grand slam. [ Post made via Android ]
  18. No. Keuka was only spoons. At Canan flashers and flies took some lakers but the rainbows took spoons. [ Post made via Android ]
  19. Canandaigua, we only fished the South end. We fished by the condos a couple weeks ago and caught fish. We catch and release everything. [ Post made via Android ]
  20. Monday morning we launched out of TFalls with white caps all over the lake. Trolled for a little under two hours picking up a 26" laker before we couldnt take it anymore. It was rocking and rolling under the foot bridge. We launched out of TFalls again this morning around 9 to find the lake not as rough as I thought it would be. We trolled until 1:30 picking up 4 lakers including a 12# fatty. We marked a lot of fish and tons of baitfish but most were not interested in our offerings. The guys fishing on shore said they were catching a few lakers. [ Post made via Android ]
  21. Started out at Woodville on Canandaigua in the morning around 9. Trolled for two hours through lots of marks that did not want our offering other than a small laker. Left and went to Keuka. Trolled from 12:30 til dark and boated 24 lakers. We used the same spoon program as Sunday. You cant beat Keuka for numbers. Biggest were probably around 24". [ Post made via Android ]
  22. Drove up from Pittsburgh early in the morning with the intentions of fishing Canandaigua. Got to Woodville around 11 to find the parking lot jammed full. Decided to go to Keuka. Fished from noon until dark and ended up getting 20 lakers. Had three doubles and one double on the same rod. All fish on spoons. Some fish were shallow enough to catch on mono divers. It was a good start to a weeks vacation for the wife and I. [ Post made via Android ]
  23. Launched out of Taughannock both days. Fri morn we got two small bows, one nice LL and one dink, and one laker. Sat afternoon after getting the skunk at Canandaigua in the morning we went back to Cayuga. We ended up finding where the lakers were hiding (spawning?) and caught 8 from 24"-29" in two hours including two doubles. Only ran two riggers all afternoon. All fish caught on flashers and flies. 24. I saw you out there in the morning. I knew I counted at least five planer boards and a boat full of guys. [ Post made via Android ]
