  1. Took out my Dad's new to him boat for the first time today. Worked out some bugs and first fish was his and a decent coho. 2nd fish was mine on the rigger and ripped out drag to 300'. Finally got it to the boat and it taped at 40" and right at 30# on the scale. Ended up getting a teen king, skippy king, and steelhead before calling it a day. Fog was thick when we came in.
  2. I had that issue with my new Cannons. i called them and they sent new swivel heads.
  3. When I was there two weeks ago it was mostly shad. Happens a lot in winter and spring.
  4. Fished today. Some browns and a laker. not much color or temp. the charter capts ended up going deep for lakers, that tells you how the brown trout fishing is.
  5. Similar thing happened to me. check the sound coming from the transducer. it might be bad.
  6. My kicker has electric trim and I raise it as much as anyone else. [ Post made via Android ]
  7. What year is it? Looks exactly like my 2011 targa v18 wt and I have no issues. just put a block of wood between motor and transom. [ Post made via Android ]
  8. Interesting you didnt get anything on riggers. i usually catch almost all my fish there on riggers because i dont want to reel in 300' of wire for those Keuka size lakers. let the electric riggers do the work. [ Post made via Android ]
  9. It is definitely possible on Keuka. Ive caught 40 in a half a day trolling there twice before. Great job. [ Post made via Android ]
  10. I have never had issues with any lb leadcore and fleas because it is large diameter. Smaller diameter stuff like braid is what has the real problem with fleas. [ Post made via Android ]
  11. That isnt very deep. What was surface temp? [ Post made via Android ]
  12. i trolled very early in the spring this year and late fall last year. i caught a few with mono dipsies and 10 color leadcore around 50' but the vast majority were caught with riggers 80-110' down. Keuka lakers seem to stay deeper than Cayuga lakers even when water is cold for some reason. [ Post made via Android ]
  13. The picture is small but I think that is a big chain pickerel. [ Post made via Android ]
  14. It was crazy. Not long into the morning I circled around to troll into the wind and was actually trolling faster into the wind than with it. Early in the afternoon I had my 9.9 hp kicker at nearly full throttle and felt like I flying....gps speed said 2.2 mph. [ Post made via Android ]
  15. We had our best luck in 80-130' near there yesterday. There was some bait and fish. We didnt get that many fish but the ones we did get were big. [ Post made via Android ]
  16. My wife, Dad, and I fished out of Fairhaven today. We were not in the tournament. We only boated four fish, but three of them weighed 20, 21, & 23#. Looks like we would have been close to first. [ Post made via Android ]
  17. I love them. I use 30s for riggers and wire and 45 for leadcore. [ Post made via Android ]
  18. That is a decent pickerel. Did you mean 24"?. You may have brought the lakers up too quickly. It seems if you bring them up very quickly sometimes they will never burp. [ Post made via Android ]
  19. They are still in business, but going through transition. Their response time on orders is bad right now and they are out of a lot of popular spoons. Their website still worked fine last I checked. [ Post made via Android ]
  20. The road leading to that launch is very narrow with lots of potholes and nowhere to pull over. Hope you dont meet another truck with a boat. The lot is rock and the launches are pretty narrow. The other launch on Port Bay is very shallow leading out to the bay and full of weeds. Fairhaven and Sodus are a short drive. [ Post made via Android ]
  21. Size 1 dipsy and 8" SD [ Post made via Android ]
  22. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: Sunnie Dino ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): 7/6/12 Time on Water: 6:00 am - 7:00 am Weather/Temp: Sunny, 70 Wind Speed/Direction: Strong from the South Waves: 3+ Surface Temp: 70 Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 2 Total Boated: 2 Species Breakdown: 2 kings Hot Lure: Green dot SD Trolling Speed: 3.0 Down Speed: Boat Depth: 120-250 Lure Depth: 100 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== My niece wanted to go out fishing Friday morning, so me, my wife, my Dad, and her got in the boat and launched around 5am. Motored out to 120' of water and setup with two riggers and two dipsies. It was rough, so we could only troll with the wind to the north. We picked up a skippy king right away on a rigger then had it release about 30 minutes later in about 200' of water. I handed the rod to my niece as it peeled out line. After a few minute fight, we got the fish in the net. It measured 35". We did not weigh it and threw it back to catch again. It was her biggest fish ever and she managed to catch a bigger fish than we caught all week in an hour of fishing. It was a long, rough ride back in against the waves, but worth it. A great end to a great week.
  23. I take my 19' Tracker out quite a bit. There are plenty of downsides to a smaller boat though. There were only two days I got out this week due to wind and waves. The weatherman was especially bad this week. [ Post made via Android ]
