  1. I just did the same on 2 torpedos. Works good but be careful when you spray it. If you go too heavy it will bubble up on you.
  2. I tried a couple of the Plazma 44s on sunday. They don't really compare to the actual suttons. I'm glad they are back at it.
  3. Fished from Long pt to Aurora sunday morning. Went 11/17 mostly salmon. Boated a grand slam but most were small fish. Went from 75-135 fow, did most of the fish in the top third of the column, especially the salmon. Most were on jet divers off the inlines down 25 ft. Anything copper or even gold took fish. Only 2 lakers all morning which is odd. One fish took the board BOBBER Down, but I never got to see it.
  4. I have run 10 colors off of the yellow Off shore boards as well. It would be nice if they were a little bigger, but it gets the job done. Ran them for walleyes on erie and they work well. Only thing is make sure they are set deep if you are fishing rough water, you don't want to lose them considering the price tag. I have never had any trouble with the fleas (on Cayuga), maybe due to the large line diameter? That is a good tip on the drag setting, kind of like running a wire dipsy. Screamin' Reels, DJ
  5. I was in there 2 weeks ago, and it was pretty slow. Picked up 5 lakers and a couple short salmon. There was a ton of bait but didn't mark many hooks. Good Luck, DJ
  6. I put this question out on tackle and techniques and was wondering if I would get more of a response for some Finger lakes guys. Does anyone know of a good substitute for a sutton since they are out of business?? I heasrd they may be making some more, but it is just a rumor. I am especially interested in the 44's. I just got some Plasma 44s but they are an inch longer than the real suttons, and I am pretty skeptical about how they will work in comparison. Any thoughts?? DJ
  7. Zack, Can you get them in only in naples, or do they have them at some retailers?
  8. Since they don't make them anymore, can anyone suggest a good substitute for Suttons? Especially the 44's. Any help would be great. Screamin' Reels, DJ
  9. Brook Trout, When you said 20-40 ft, did you mean lure depth or bottom depth?
  10. Just a heads up. Monday is the third day of the Seneca Lake Trout Derby.
  11. Jeff, I called Gander mtn. this morning and they said they don't do orders over the phone! You have to have a gift card from the store. Unbelieveable. Thanks for the info though. Hard to believe I have been looking for one of those books for 2 months and they won't sell it to me. Dennis
  12. How long would you guys suggest for a leader between a flasher or a spin doctor and a fly for lakers? I am guessing it is longer but was wondering how much?
  13. Maybe by "disection" he meant fileting the fish for dinner?
  14. I have riggers, lead core, dipsys, and planers, big and small. I would like to learn how to catch fish on the flashers and flies but have never had much luck. What would be some good colors to use and how long a lead between the flasher and fly? Thanks for any info. DJ
  15. I am thinking about taking my boat to seneca this weekend. Anyone have any info or suggestions for a rookie? Colors, depths, spoons, f/f, etc...??? Any info is greatly appreciated.
  16. Harvey, PM sent I hope. PLease let me know if you dont get it. Screamin' Reels, DJ

Tried many different combos to no avail. Coho on NK NBK Steelhead on NK Purple Passion?(not sure if that spoon name is right) Laker on NK D4 copper/ tarnished copper. Only saw 2 other boats land a fish. Maybe it was being new to this, but yesterday was brutal. Anyone do well around fair haven? if so, please share! Getting up at 3:30 to go do that is not fun!
  18. WD 40! Its made out of fish oil! So they claim anyway.
  19. I was wondering if 500ft of wire with some strong backing would work for a dipsy rig? If so, what would you suggest for backing and how much? Also, what knot would be the best to attach the backing to the wire? I know putting 1000' ft on a reel is probably the best but I would like to be able to make 2 rigs if possible, since I am just starting out. As always, all info is appreciated Screamin' Reels, DJ
  20. Mortigan, Can you share where the books are available? I don't have an I phone, so no apps for me! DJ
  21. OK I will probably order one but I would still really like to find the depth curves for dipsy's especially. I am going to set up 2 wire rigs and would really like the dive charts for wire
  22. Thanks Raider, Do they have dive charts like the big water trolling series? DJ
  23. Great Lakes Salmon and Trout Fishing. The Complete Trollers Guide By capt. Dan Keating and capt. Chip Porter Has anyone tried this? There are no Precision Trolling books to be found anywhere, so I was considering this one. I just wanted to see if anyone here already had, and whether it is a good resource or not. Thanks for any info. Screamin' Reels, DJ
  24. Thanks for the info! Its great that guys share info rather then guard it like their first born! Any colors hotter than others or just the usual greens? NBK, etc...
