Depending on how it calms down time wise you might get out this afternoon. Its crankin right now at Fair Haven. I think tomorrow 6am is the best timing. Waves will be down then and its probably stirred up enough. Thursday is the window because Friday she goes right back up again... have fun

16 that is what they monitor. In fact you are supposed to (by their rules) use 16 until you connect with someone then you would go to another channel to continue conversation. But most just go to their channel's because others are already on them. The USCG does have scanning and they do scan but 16 is primary for them.

Boy they were not kidding when they said small craft advisory until thursday, its crankin out there....waves have to be a good 4 feet. The wind almost blew me over as I was picking driftwood off the west bank lol.. There is a small window Wednesday night, Thursday am before she picks up again... Its a gopro Hero. Its designed for outdoor use. I bought it for my snowboard and ski trips I put on during the Winter but started using it last year on the boat. Its got several resolutions and camera angles plus its waterproof down to 150 feet. Im looking forward to really putting it to the test this year. I can snap mount it right to the dash or any other place on the boat..

Last year I hooked up a radio in my camp so I can have communication between my sons and anyone else on the lake for that matter. I thought it would be a good idea in case someone got in trouble. Thanks to my buddy who was a communications expert in the British Military, we hooked up...or shall I say.."rigged" up a home made antennae and I know I can receive and transmit as far as "moon beach" and Oswego. The unit doesnt have a scanner and I really didnt want one because I wanted to just isolate on the Fair Haven/Oswego/Sodus area. So this brings me to the question as to what is your favorite VHF channel that you would normally communicate on when you are in the area of Fair Haven. I personally use 05 but occasionally 68... About 13 feet just outside the chute. We were on our way in. Yea the enclosure works well. I designed it years ago. I have a proline as well..
