  1. Too many more days like today and they might move out.. Saw a few guys out deep already. The other interesting thing I saw today was alewives spawning in the channel.. I tried to pattern after that but the fish didn't seem to care about color today haha
  2. Set up and running spoons and sticks inside of 10FOW before 6:30 Got a good rip right of the bat but missed it. Boated 4 cookie cutters and a 11# brown all before 9:00 A.M. on everything from a orange/pink DW to a black and white flat-rap. Tried for the life of me to move another rod in anywhere from 5FOW to 50 FOW but couldn't get another hit. Came off the water at 11. T-Storms never moved in and it turned out to be a beautiful day
  3. I shoot a bow that was custom built for my dad in the 80's hes a big ox.. low and behold i grew into his bow, its got soft cams (if you can call them that) that look more like the wheels on a skateboard than cams, its long, its old, its heavy, but with a 70# and 32 inch draw, with a 2315 aluminum arrow... it hits like a dumptruck and its accurate enough for me out to 30 yards and i wouldnt change for the world.. Ive killed alot of deer with that bow, and i follow the kiss theory religiously. upgrading is fine but for a real big guy its really hard to find a bow that fits comfortably in the modern day super short, super light bow market. I looked a couple years ago and i wasnt happy with anything i could find, if i ever really decided to change i think im gona go backwards.. double recurve.. just my two pennies
  4. Depends on what your fishing for and where your fishing for it.. i typically customize my spoons because theyre never "quite perfect" dont laugh but nail polish works wonders
  5. You did quite a bit better than we did yesterday. I went out with a coworker. Hit the water at 11 ant trolled back and fourth over every inch of water between wegmans and the pumphouse. Picked up 3 small rainbows 40-60 ft down over 160-170 FOW. All hit small "Customized" orange and red dreamweavers just couldnt seem to get into any bigger fish but as allways... it was a beautiful day to be on the water
  6. Got a late start this morning and set up at 8:00 I front of the pumphouse. Tangled up within 5 minutes of getting settled in 😑 untangled, resettled, and heard the sweet sound of screaming drag at 9:00. Beautiful 5.5 pound female bow took a customized small size dream weaver 45 feet feet down over 110 FOW just past the marina. Reset and picked up another small bow on the same setup at 9:30. Trolled up and down the west side until 1:00 with one more bump and decided to hang it up. Slow day but a beautiful one to be on the water nonetheless.
  7. Again many thanks to Les for taking me out and showing me the ropes on canandaigua. It was great to be able to get out and learn where to start looking. As was said it was a beautiful morning to be on the water rather than working
  8. I usually fish Ontario but weather and gas prices are making me look closer to home. Any suggestions on where to start would be greatly appreciated. Saw some posts with some beautiful fish... Looks like canandaigua may be a good place to start. I'd be coming out of the north end. Thanks again. Woody
