  1. On my 1991 Islander with the 4.3L V6 should I be running high test gas in it? Someone told me that I should be. I do run Marine Formula Stabil in it.
  2. yeah, I have sent him an email
  3. If I do it I will definatly run it to the dash
  4. I wish mine did! My Islander doesnt have any courtesy lighting at all!
  5. well, I am definatly getting a second prop to leave in the boat that is for sure. I guess I will have to wait till spring when I get her out to check the RPMs
  6. so there will have to be a fuse and a switch to operate the LED's? I really like the flexable strips style.
  7. I need to pick up a second prop for my 1991 221V Islander. She has the 4.3L V6 in her. The prop on her right now has a few dings in it and I cant seem to find any numbers on it. She seems to run ok, gets up on plane. Would like that to be alitle faster if possible..Any idea what the standard pitch would be for my rig? Should I consider a 4 blade prop since I have to get one anyways? I will only get aluminum

    Islander plug

really? This is really weird. I will have to unplug it next spring and see what happens.
  9. I need to look into some lightening for the back interior of my 91 221V Islander. Curious to know what others have used. Was thinking about the LED rope style lighting, but dont know how they work. seems like they would be ideal.
  10. oh ok.. i just dump antifreeze down the two top front hoses. one goes to theblock and one leads to the lower unit. that is what I did
  11. oh boy..so my 1991 Mercruiser 4.3L is one of these???
  12. Does everyone fill up their block with RV/Marine antifreeze and leave the antifreeze in it or simply flush it out real good. I pour the antifreeze down by two top front hoses and it goes out all the holes (4) and then the lower unit. I didnt leave it full of antifreeze. also, Curro, hope that when you fogged the engine you didnt hook it up to the muffs since you had already drained the block and added the antifreeze!

    Islander plug

Thats interesting. because if Iopened the plug, it will drain into the engine compartment
  14. Curious to know who empties their fuel tanks and who fills them right up before winterization. I ahvent decided yet, I do know the Marine Stabil will be in it though!
  15. I ahve a 1991 4.3 L VC Mercruiser in my 221V islander. First year Iwill be winterizing/changine oil. Anyone know the #'s for the oil filter and fuel filter??
  16. I hear you there, but, accidents happen.
  17. I have some kind of plug that is located in the bottom of the hull just before the engine. The plug is in a horizontal position. Does anyone know what this is for?
  18. did that actually and emailed the part and they said that that is not a piece of taylor hardware
  19. I just cant seem to find this piece of hardware. would love to hear from some islander owners out there. they will understand what part I need
  20. Looking for some accessories for my canopy on the 221V islander. The plastic piece that the canopy's pole goes into. its plasic and has several positions. both of mine or broke
  21. For the 15HP kicker, do you simply spray some of the seafoam into the cylendar and let it sit for awhitle (after it is up to temp)..then with the spark plug still out, turn it over to remove the excess. then reinstall the plugs..then fire it up?
  22. thanks for the tip. I picked up the marine formula stabil for the routing engine treatment at every fill up. that is what I will use
  23. I am gonna pick up some SeaFoam Deep Creep spray and apply it to my carburated 4.3L V6 mercruiser in the Islander..I watched the youtube directions but they are only for a vehicle and not a marine engine. Dont know if it differs at all?
  24. Ok so My islander has been running alittle rough as whe nI bought it it had 25 gallons of year old untreated fuel in it. I topped it off and added the correct amount of Star Tron. I have run it twice and it still runs alittle rough but not bad. Was thinking about adding some Marvel Mystery Oil to the fuel to see if that helps..I think the carbs could use a good cleaning out. What would someone recomend to do? I also have a 15HP Johnson kicker that Ijust picked up used. Want to clean the carbs out on that as well. What would anyone recomend?
  25. I just picked up a Johnson 15HP long shaft..late 80's vintage but in fine shape for my Islander 221V. think it should be perfect setup
