Justin, When I click on the link for the DEC report I get a message that says the page doesn't exist. I was interested in what the stats for Tigers were. I was able to find the 2012 report on the website. I wasn't sure if the diary study includes Tiges but I found out fron the 2012 report that it does.

From What I heard, at last year's tournament many of the fish were caught trolling. The biggest one was caught casting. Small walleye size baits are the general rule like Rapala Husky Jerks and similar baits. Ones with a lot of silver. Spoons could do the trick too. It might not hurt to try some a little larger.

I saw this on Craigs list and thought I'd pass it along for what its worth. Free 1987 MFG 17', no motor or seats, rotted floor. A real project. http://rochester.craigslist.org/zip/4437193556.html

We had a pretty good turnout at tonight's meeting. Brad Hammers put on nice presentation and got about a dozen of us signed up for the Waneta lake diary study. He also told us that the regulation proposals to raise the size limit for musky on all inland waters to 40 inches and rolling back the opening day for musky to the last Saturday in May are still in the plan. I had not heard anything definitive about these proposals this year and was wondering if they were off the table. If approved, they will go into effect for the 2015 season. This of course does not include Lake Erie, Lake Ontario, Niagara River and St. Lawrence River where the only change proposed is to raise the size limit to 54 inches.

Years ago I went to Hay Bay several times for walleye and stayed at the Blakewood Lodge. They had tiny little cabins with bunk beds a sink from the 40s and some of the first refidgerators ever made. The main lodge had a dining room and kitchen and the owner lived on the other side. He was a chef and used to cook some awsome meals. He would do a fish fry one night that was to die for. I asked him how he cooked the fish. He told me the most important thing is to get rid of the skin, the lateral line, all the dark meat under the skin and the silvery membrane lining the internal cavity (that gets rid of all the gamy taste, not to mention much of the toxins). It helps to have a good sharp and flexible filet knife. He dipped it in an egg batter (egg with a little milk) and then in crushed cracker crumbs. He then pan fried it with about 1/2" of oil. No seasoning but I would imagine you could add whatever seasoning you prefer. I crushed up ritz crackers when I did it and it was just as good as his. It is important that the oil be heated up before you add the fish. I used canola oil. I don't know what temp I used but what I did is put a few drops of water in the pan and after it boils out I put the fish in. When the down side is brown I fliped it over and browned the other side. It should only take about two or three minuets on each side. Remove it from the pan and set it on paper towel to soak up the excess oil.

I don's see how they could possibly enforce it. They can't even manage to enforce the current regulations. But it would be a pain if they pick you to enforce it on. According to the proposed regulation, you are required to remove all plant and aquatic animal life and parts thereof from your boat (inside and out) and your trailer before you leave the launch. Usually at the end of a day of fishing, my floor is littered with bits of weeds. The only way it can be cleaned up completely is with a vacuum cleaner. I can see taking measures to minimize the spread of invasive species but if they were to enforce these proposed regulation to the letter, the only boats that will be on the water will be those that are kept there and maybe cartop boats.
