  1. When trolling Smithwicks for browns, is there better action tying to the split ring or direct to the nose of the lure? Not sure if it matters or not. Thanks in advance Tom
  2. Seems like that color does well, my question though is there conditions where that color will be better than the others?
  3. I'm new to the site and I have read a lot but did not see much ddiscussions that talked about what color spin doctors do better than others for different weather or water conditions. When is it best to use the chrome spin doctors versus the white ones? I have read enough about what colors are productive but just wondering if there were any tips about certain ones that are good for cloudy or early morning or sunny conditions. Any help is appreciated Thanks Tom
  4. great video, perfect for someone like me that is getting started, couple questions: 1. what line do you use for the leader? 2. what is the leader length? 3. can you set up the rig running behind the boat if you don't have an otter? please post any other videos like this one, awesome info thanks
  5. I want to start using a spin doctor/ fly set up on a couple rods, what good combinations can anyone suggest that I can start out with? Any help is appreciated
  6. you're probably right, we tried trolling at speeds 2.1-2.3, then bumped up to 2.6, i kept trying different colors, probably should have kept the orange and frog going like my gut was telling me, oh well. so many fish being marked in 20' and up but also 40-60', i feel confused on what depth i should be targeting some times. thanks for the tips

  10. Anyone have any reports out of Irondequoit? Headed out this weekend and wondering where browns and kings are and what is working. Any help is appreciated Thanks!

  12. If the water stirs up with this weather, will the browns move in tight again?
  13. I tried searching for fin-lander spoons and could not find anything, what should I be looking under?
  14. it seems like the fishing this year is slower than last year at this point. Will it get better for browns and salmon in close or will they stay out? Last year it seemed it was better in closer to shore.
  15. I was running a black and silver flutterdevele and stinger but couldn't get hit on it for some reason, sounds like it is the right color, thanks
  16. What colors were you picking up the kings on?
  17. Thanks, we marked a few fish down that deep in 100 fow but most hooks were at 15-30 feet down today, picked up only one laker, pretty slow for us
  18. question, what do you mean when you say that you are using a 70 rigger, 80 rigger and 10 color core? is this a spoon set-up?
  19. has anyone used slide divers before? i bought a pair and i am confused in looking at the depth chart for each of the settings. what setting do i use and how does it relate to the depth that the lure ends up at? any help would be appreciated, i hear good things about them, i'm thinking its not as complicated as i think thanks
  20. Thanks. Anyone use slide divers before? I bought a pair but I can't quite figure out the settings and how they relate to both the diver diving depth and how it relates to lure depth from there. I have the chart but it is confusing
