  1. -I look back at when I was finally legal to hunt in NY and my Dad and I spent every weekend in the woods together hunting tree rats and grouse.Still brings a smile to my face thinking about it. My dad is still here but he just can't put all the miles on his knees anymore. Enjoy the time spent together. I still have the tail from my first squirrel I shot 33 years ago. That one squirrel cemented my passion for hunting Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  2. Giz- I believe red oaks produce best every other year. I am in Eden in southern Erie county- south of Buffalo. Last year we had next to no acorns- this year they are everywhere- the weather may have hit you at just the wrong time? I'm no forester but just a thought Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. The soup I make is your basic chicken noodle but with jalapeño's -makes a great spicy broth. I also make a pot pie out of them. My mother is repulsed by the thought of squirrels but after coaxing her into trying it she loves both those recipes. They also make a great stew. Squirrels are a great way to get the young ones into hunting and also a great way to sharpen up stalking skills no matter your age. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  4. Good job guys- I worked that inside water until 1:00. Pretty good screen inside of 100'- best 2 rips of the day were gone as quick as they hit. That East wind is really starting to rip now Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  5. Just took a violent rip on dipsey -175 back -FF- gone before I could grab the Rod Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  6. I'm fishing olcott- just that the Wilson launch is 2 minutes away from parents house - Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  7. I'll post the temp but I launched out of Wilson- no way I'm running west and fighting this East wind home Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  8. Nice steelhead- 88 down over 100- released - same spoon Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  9. Rigger- 88 down over 95'. Screamed off the release then gone. Pearl/black warrior spoon Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  10. Same here killians- exactly the same depths- at least we got the skunk out Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  11. I've been out here about and hour. Was working 150-200'. Nothing happening. Heading into shallower water now. Screen is dead. A little bump out here- offshore must be ugly. Hope others doing better than me Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. I was on vacation yesterday and today but the North wind kept me from fishing. I was determined not to waste both vacation days so I grabbed my 22 and hit the squirrel woods this AM. 41 degrees sunny and calm. A beautiful morning to be in the woods. Managed a few for my jalepeno and squirrel soup on a future cold fall day at hunting camp Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  14. That is a bruiser buck! Some serious mass coming of his bases- good luck with him Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  15. I hear you there- we were just talking about that over breakfast. Swapping my back up between boats is useless if I forget it. Time to have a back up in each boat instead of swapping each time Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  16. Is there any worse feeling than a dead battery wrecking your fishing trip. Boat has not been in the water for 7 weeks- apparently last trip out I left the sub troll until plugged in and it smoked the battery. Luckily I found this out in the garage after trying to raise the motor. My dad has been dealing with a medical issue and this was going to be our first trip out since. Both my back up batteries are in Buffalo in my duck boat. Im off Thursday and Friday so weather permitting I can try this again. Looking out the window-Boats are stacked just East of Wilson and it torture- LOL- good fishing guys Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  17. Thanks for the report- nice fish- I'll be out in the AM with my dad. We haven't been out since July 5th. Looking forward to it Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  18. Nice buck- that food plot looks great. Wish my vegetable garden looked that good Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  19. Pulled 2 cards this week and got this guy at both locations Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  20. EFF OFF yourself- this is a fishing site not a character assassination site- Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  21. Shorelunch- he said he was done with the topic and if you have any further issues to man up in May. You continue to verbally abuse him knowing he won't respond - you are a coward ! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  22. Great picture- nice catch Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  23. Sounds like you got some personal grudge- what is a s&$t hole? The building you pay in? The bathrooms? Fish cleaning station? Parking lot? They stepped up big time this year and should be commended. I usually launch out of Wilson because it's closer but that place can be a s$&t show. What is so hard to comprehend that one side is launch and one side is load. No big deal in the AM but come afternoon it's a free for all- no one working there controls what's goes on after noon.If they don't install floating docks before next season it will be next to useless again next season Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  24. Chrony capitalism - well said rdebadts. [emoji106]government always has its own agenda and the hell with the people- I have probably expressed my political thoughts on here a bit too much in the past but this refers to both parties. They are all slime that talk out of both sides of their mouths depending on present company- it's all about $$$$ Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  25. You got that right gambler - we have had multiple concrete companies give a estimate to fix my parents break wall- you don't even want to know how much to fix it but they all say we can't do anything until the water level drops atleast a couple feet- I don't see how that is going to happen. The wall used to have water just touching the base of it an inch at best- I did a cannonball off of it on the 4th of July- last year that would have paralyzed me landing in 6" water Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
