  1. I hear you there- we were just talking about that over breakfast. Swapping my back up between boats is useless if I forget it. Time to have a back up in each boat instead of swapping each time Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  2. Is there any worse feeling than a dead battery wrecking your fishing trip. Boat has not been in the water for 7 weeks- apparently last trip out I left the sub troll until plugged in and it smoked the battery. Luckily I found this out in the garage after trying to raise the motor. My dad has been dealing with a medical issue and this was going to be our first trip out since. Both my back up batteries are in Buffalo in my duck boat. Im off Thursday and Friday so weather permitting I can try this again. Looking out the window-Boats are stacked just East of Wilson and it torture- LOL- good fishing guys Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. Thanks for the report- nice fish- I'll be out in the AM with my dad. We haven't been out since July 5th. Looking forward to it Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  4. Nice buck- that food plot looks great. Wish my vegetable garden looked that good Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  5. Pulled 2 cards this week and got this guy at both locations Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. EFF OFF yourself- this is a fishing site not a character assassination site- Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  7. Shorelunch- he said he was done with the topic and if you have any further issues to man up in May. You continue to verbally abuse him knowing he won't respond - you are a coward ! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  8. Great picture- nice catch Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  9. Sounds like you got some personal grudge- what is a s&$t hole? The building you pay in? The bathrooms? Fish cleaning station? Parking lot? They stepped up big time this year and should be commended. I usually launch out of Wilson because it's closer but that place can be a s$&t show. What is so hard to comprehend that one side is launch and one side is load. No big deal in the AM but come afternoon it's a free for all- no one working there controls what's goes on after noon.If they don't install floating docks before next season it will be next to useless again next season Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. Chrony capitalism - well said rdebadts. [emoji106]government always has its own agenda and the hell with the people- I have probably expressed my political thoughts on here a bit too much in the past but this refers to both parties. They are all slime that talk out of both sides of their mouths depending on present company- it's all about $$$$ Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  11. You got that right gambler - we have had multiple concrete companies give a estimate to fix my parents break wall- you don't even want to know how much to fix it but they all say we can't do anything until the water level drops atleast a couple feet- I don't see how that is going to happen. The wall used to have water just touching the base of it an inch at best- I did a cannonball off of it on the 4th of July- last year that would have paralyzed me landing in 6" water Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  12. Every time I read this it just blows my mind- He built a underwater feeding trough and put 50 pounds of corn in it and profited off it and this scum bag gets to hunt and guide hunts again in this state in a few years. At very least both those things should have been taken from him forever! hunting is a privilege not a right- Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  13. Garrmny- the majority of walleye trolling techniques were born from Ontario salmon fishing. You just need to take that knowledge with you and tweak it for walleye. Once you put some time in you will put some tasty fillets in your freezer. Check out the LEU site. Tons of great info from guys who eat sleep and breath walleye Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  14. Good topic, if I may add to this- What plastic net would someone suggest? I'm 90% catch and release and anything to better the odds of survival I'm interested. Every plastic net I see is way to small for salmon Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  15. Jimski has the right idea- make the long run to stable water and fish steelies. Drop a rigger down deep in the ice cold for kings out there also with a slider on it for steelies. I have fished lake O for 20 years and this is the least amount of time I've spent weekend salmon fishing ever. ( weather and my father is recovering from a blood clot in his lung that by the grace of god he survived are both factors) Back in the day when I was a newbie I fished no matter what the conditions unless it was to rough. Not anymore - now I just go else where. The walleye are feeling my wrath this year which isn't a bad thing but my passion is Kings. Hopefully August weekends will cooperate. Also Jimski I think you meant the niagara river- Good fishing to all. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  16. Awesome catch by the way- congrats! 3 hours- that's crazy! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  17. If you look the head is still attached- gill covers are cut/sawed off and the entrails are removed through there after cutting the intestines free through the anus, then you can pack the empty cavity with ice to cool it down and keep the meat perfect. I've never done it but I will one day. Have read up a lot on tuna for when that day finally happens Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  18. Sunday looks fishable King- tomorrow is looking like another work day at the hunting property to keep me from going stir crazy! Hope all is going well with your treatments king- Thanks again Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  19. Thank you for that report king. So much for salmon this weekend for me- walleye on Erie it is. I've fished walleye more than salmon this year- my freezer loves it but my drags are dying to scream line again. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  20. LOL Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  21. I worked off the coast of Maryland a few years back on a 150' research boat- I asked the captain about the banana thing and he told me it had to do with the frequency of the boats hauling tropical fruit back in time and how often they went down trying to get their products to markets- regardless no bananas ever make it on my boat Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  22. Thanks Gill-T. I'm off the water. Youngest one on board starting losing his lunch one it kicked up. Ended up with 7 small guys but at least it kept them interested for another trip Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  23. Started off Wilson in 130', off the red barn now in 200'. 3/4 on skippies. Marking little bait. 4 kids on board 12-15- first timers. Thankfully the little guys are keeping them interested for now.... Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  24. I won't say no to that Kduncan- Thank you. I haven't been on the water in a month. I'm hoping to take my niece for her first trip ever on Lake O. Finally one of my brothers kids following in our family's roots! I was staring to get worried[emoji1][emoji120]Thank you Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  25. Thanks for the report- hope to finally hit the water again Wednesday- it's been far too long! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
