Last three trips I've made to Owasco have been fruitless. Trolled both sides, middle, etc. Spoons, cowbells, plugs You name it. Verried my speeds from 1.5 to 3.5 and a little higher. Caught one fish dragging my downrigger weight on the bottom! 3 lb laker . Set it free. I marked fish every trip . Tight to the bottom or under bait balls. I just keep plugging away. I'm catching fish but, spoon size is killing me plus speed. It's a long day on the water marking fish and few takers. I catching 2 to 3 for 4 or 5 hours. Makes a long day. I never keep anything as I release every fish. I only keep walleye when on oneida. Some days I simply pop the hook out and never take the trout out of the water. To me it's simply fun.
