  1. I'm not sure that weight and length add up. I've seen 33..34" inch eyes stuffed with eggs and they are usually lower teens. I'm thinking one of those numbers is wrong...beautiful fish regardless. Sent from my SM-G955U using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. A couple of years ago they put a lot of rock and gravel in Kent's creek which feeds mud bay for walleye spawning. Hopefully we get a good return out of that. Sent from my SM-G955U using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. With both countries in one boat they can chase both ways! Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. He did say they were good guys. Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. My buddy told me of a new border wrinkle. There's a new patrol boat..black... with both US and Canadian officers on it..armed and ready for hell. They were out doing boat checks by Carleton island last night. I guess it's new along with the new border law re boats. Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  9. Another friend that was there said the same thing. We got 4 pike that one day. That one was 40...i got one that was 26..and the others were 20ish. All on jigs. My other friend there got a 29 1/2" walleye too.. real nice. It's a fun lake. Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. Here's the pike my buddy got. Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. We went out at night for a very brief troll...lol...without any moon it is frn black on that lake! We stayed at kirks (great place!!)..and there are hazards all over around there. Then there was lightning heading out way and we said to he'll with it. I think you mentioned moonlight would be a good thing...so true. Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. I just got back myself from 4 1/2 days on Big Gull. Being my first time there I gotta call it a success. We ate walleye every day (blackened walleye with eggs was excellent! :))...and brought limits home. Like other have said...most fell into slot. Wind was pretty strong most days which made us work at it. Most fish came in 13 to 16 which differed big time from previous post that said 17 to 25 I think. Highlight was gorgeous 40" northern my buddy got on tiny jig on 4 lb test. Truly beautiful fish...which was released. Funny...most fish in there seem skinny. The eyes are long and pretty thin. The northern only weighed 10lbs with head the biggest part of it. There's lots of forage in there...bait everywhere so the lack of girth on all fish is kind of odd. No doubt I'll be going back though!
  13. You guys ever night fish big gull? My friends been there many times but never night trolled. If things get tough during day that s always been a good plan B for me. Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  14. I'll be at kirks from tomorrow am through wed. My buddy that s fished the area for years says the area in front of kirks always holds fish but is rocky and snag infested. He said there are some other far more tackle friendly spots that are just as good. Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. Next week to big gull for me! Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  17. It'll be my 1st time there. 3 other guys have gone there the last 15 years or so...and know the place pretty well. Lookin fwd to some hands on walleye fishin as most I've done lately is big water trolling. Be staying at kirks cove. Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  19. Thanks..appreciate the info. I anticipate getting into Canadian waters more in the future. Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  20. I put this in the musky forum given the assumption the musky guys do more border zigzagging than most. At a boat show in Clayton this spring there were some Canadian customs guys wandering around and I had a chat with em. They said...if fishing in Canadian waters you can call in for clearance if you have a nexus card. If not you're supposed to check in physically. That goes for all on the boat. He went into how you'll be warned the first time and if there's a second time it could get ugly. This sounds like big PITA. I don't venture over there often. For me it would be out off the mouth of the SLR by charity or pigeon shoal. Sure I can get a nexus card but odds are good that at times I'll have someone with me w/o one. Id be reluctant to go all the way to wolf island or kingston to check in. Did I interpret all this correctly? Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  21. The fat slob is from JH Baits in Barrie not. Pricy things..he quoted me $350 Canadian for 4 of em...ouch! I'll start out with 1 or 2 once I figure out what colors to ask for. Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  22. Hello all...i got lots of good info when I started this thread last summer. Right now it's the ca-ching sound of the cash register as I work on collecting lures etc for the upcoming season. Lol.. I'm looking at bucktails now. What are your favorite colors for the SLR area? Has anyone used the "fat slob" bucktails made up in Ontario.? They're look great to me....any other bucktails suggestions? Thanks! Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  23. Saw a couple guys this past weekend at mud bay with a 5 gal bucket full of bullhead along with a couple bonus channel cats in the 12lb or so range. Must of been fun. They kept the cats to eat which I'm not sure if do... Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  24. The way it was explained to me...higher water is good thing although it's at extreme right now. Northerns and musky will go into swamps that have been dry in recent years ..spawn and head back to lake. Water will recede to point that predators will not be able to get into swamp.. pike and musky fry will have a year to grow before going into lake. This bodes well for future if they stay with " The plan". Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  25. Not judging nor trying to stir things...just an observation. Again...mount looks beautiful. Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
