  1. Does anyone or has anyone ever run a standard fly rig with teaser's. Basically running a meat rig but instead of the meat head and meat strip using a Fly instead. Just a curious if anyone has had success with this set up. Something to play with on slow days. thanks Sent from my KYOCERA-E6920 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. Again thanks for your insight. Yes not interested in catching the fresh stocked browns. Sent from my KYOCERA-E6920 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. Sorry thank you Les. Not Seth I just re read my post. Sent from my KYOCERA-E6920 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. Thanks guys I've caught a fair amount of them trolling during the day but it's always kind of a surprise. And I'm looking for a chalange or maybe a way to target them specificly. I understand the temps and also know fishing the fingers is a whole different ball game than fishing lake Ontario. Thanks Seth. I always look forward to your opinions on topics. And also thanks Nick with I respect you giving up info knowing it can effect your business publicly sharing your secrets. Tite line guys and all of the luck to you this season Sent from my KYOCERA-E6920 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. Any one out there have any tips for catching browns on Cayuga as the season progresses. I catch them on here and there but can hardly say I have a pattern figure out for them. Not looking for any secret spots but more general patterns. And spoon/ plug / flasher fly options. I know boat shyness comes more in to play and I have all the toys to combat that. I also have the understanding of temps. I just never have been able to put together a productive brown program. Thanks alot and Tite lines Sent from my KYOCERA-E6920 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. I don't believe there is. There is a big tournament the weekend before. And Bear usally has his summer tournament mid July. Sent from my KYOCERA-E6920 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. Agreed 100 percent. My comment was not in debate but as a reminder. Any one that disagree with the actions of those heroic individuals that day and then claims to have 30 yrs of experience to back it up is a discrace to the fire service in it's itself maybe you don't agree in going in maybe you do but those 343 brothers that died that day are true heroes. End of story. Sent from my KYOCERA-E6920 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  8. Firechief48. Please invite me to this debate I would love to hear of his 30 years of experience. I have 20 yrs in a ghetto fire house local 1404. Short handed every fire barn job fire trucks and equipment and we get it done every day. "Greater love hath no man than this. That a man lay down his life for anouther.". Nothing is Vacant untill it is proven to be vacant. This whole hit it hard from the yard has ruined the fire services and has and will cost people that rely on us for protection their lives. "Electricians get zapped, carpenters hit them selves with hammers, and firemen get burned.". It's just the way it is. Sent from my KYOCERA-E6920 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. Actually I did find one about 5 miles from where my boat is located. Thanks for the responce Sent from my KYOCERA-E6920 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. Any body know where I can get a lowrance total scan transducer as soon as possible. Sonar is not working thanks in advance Sent from my KYOCERA-E6920 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. Does anyone have a alpha one gen one gimble housing that is in good shape. I am in the middle of a motor swap and mine is worn out. Would like to replace it while I have the motor out. Prefer to find one in the Ithaca area thanks Sent from my KYOCERA-E6920 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. That looks like Frontenac marina. My boat is there too. Good luck with the sale. I always liked the lay out of those boats. Sent from my KYOCERA-E6920 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. Thank you sir. I hope I don't have a problem that I have to chase down. Sounds like a pain and I hate electrical issues Sent from my KYOCERA-E6920 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  14. What would be a appreciate voltage on the wire to have. I've heard and read that .5 to .7 is exceptable. Sent from my KYOCERA-E6920 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. Thank you frogger for the response. I'm going to take voltage measurements next time I'm at the boat. Did you find the riggers to repel fish. I haven't noticed anything else on the boat caroding deafinatly not getting any shocks. I feel like I'm chasing a coincidence but I'm doing some fine tuning on the boat and if I'm having a problem deafinatly want to fix it. Sent from my KYOCERA-E6920 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  16. My riggers also do have auto stop but I'm not as concerned about that if the wire is actually repelling fish. I can stop my riggers all day long manually if that means putting more fish over the side of the boat. I am catching fish on the riggers but I am noticing a bigger than normal difference between the riggers and divers. Sent from my KYOCERA-E6920 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  17. Thanks for the replys I guess I'm not as worked about having to little a charge as I am having to much. I know the electrical fields can attract or repel fish and I won't have the answer untill I test the system. If I did have a " hot " boat I'm just wondering what the easiest way to remidy the problem is. I have never used braid on a downrigger I guess I have never noticed quite a large difference in catch rates between the riggers and divers. My divers have always caught more than the riggers even before this boat but it seems the numbers are way more different than in years past. 18. I have 2 older electric mag 10 on my boat. The boat is new to me with these downriggers. I've read alot about a boat being what is called Hot. Producing a electrical current that maybe higher than what would attract fish. I haven't tested my cables to see if there is a issue but if there is how do I remidy the problem. Is it better to just switch to braid on the riggers or is there a way to ground the cable somehow to the boat. The boat is fiberglass and I feel my catch ratio between my divers and my riggers is really off ballance. Looking for some fine tuning advice. I use 12 lbd standard lead weights with no insulation on the weights them selves. I've also read that the electrical current can scare fish for hundeads of feet. So if cables are hot would changing to the braid even make a difference. I'm probably looking deeper in to something that is more coincidental than anything just trying to get peace of mind. 19. No second trip. He is my oldest son's pup. He usually sleeps the whole day when he is out. Sent from my KYOCERA-E6920 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  20. Fished North of Dean's cove today mid day kept kids busy feeling in lake trout. Set up in about 100 ft of water. Dipseys set at 270 did the most damage brought 5 home to cook and sent or lost at least that many back to the lake. Kids are learning the back of the boat and don't quite get the keep the line tight concept yet. Glad to be back out after losing last year to boat engine problems. I think the dog got a little green in the gills today. Trying to teach him to puke in the bucket [emoji23] Sent from my KYOCERA-E6920 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  24. Heading to Cayuga lake on Wednesday haven't been on the water since June due to major boat issues. Fishing out of a friend of mines boat. Will be launching out of Meyers. Looking for some starting points any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks. In advanced. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  25. I looked at your picture. I would.be careful with the rod holders. You can always attach the rods to the boat with a length of paracord and a key chain carabiner just in case they fail when a fish hits. Nothing worse than donating fishing poles reels and a hole rig to the bottom of the lake[emoji16] Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
