  1. Thanks for the replys I guess I'm not as worked about having to little a charge as I am having to much. I know the electrical fields can attract or repel fish and I won't have the answer untill I test the system. If I did have a " hot " boat I'm just wondering what the easiest way to remidy the problem is. I have never used braid on a downrigger I guess I have never noticed quite a large difference in catch rates between the riggers and divers. My divers have always caught more than the riggers even before this boat but it seems the numbers are way more different than in years past. 2. I have 2 older electric mag 10 on my boat. The boat is new to me with these downriggers. I've read alot about a boat being what is called Hot. Producing a electrical current that maybe higher than what would attract fish. I haven't tested my cables to see if there is a issue but if there is how do I remidy the problem. Is it better to just switch to braid on the riggers or is there a way to ground the cable somehow to the boat. The boat is fiberglass and I feel my catch ratio between my divers and my riggers is really off ballance. Looking for some fine tuning advice. I use 12 lbd standard lead weights with no insulation on the weights them selves. I've also read that the electrical current can scare fish for hundeads of feet. So if cables are hot would changing to the braid even make a difference. I'm probably looking deeper in to something that is more coincidental than anything just trying to get peace of mind. 4. Fished North of Dean's cove today mid day kept kids busy feeling in lake trout. Set up in about 100 ft of water. Dipseys set at 270 did the most damage brought 5 home to cook and sent or lost at least that many back to the lake. Kids are learning the back of the boat and don't quite get the keep the line tight concept yet. Glad to be back out after losing last year to boat engine problems. I think the dog got a little green in the gills today. Trying to teach him to puke in the bucket [emoji23] Sent from my KYOCERA-E6920 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  8. Heading to Cayuga lake on Wednesday haven't been on the water since June due to major boat issues. Fishing out of a friend of mines boat. Will be launching out of Meyers. Looking for some starting points any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks. In advanced. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. I looked at your picture. I would.be careful with the rod holders. You can always attach the rods to the boat with a length of paracord and a key chain carabiner just in case they fail when a fish hits. Nothing worse than donating fishing poles reels and a hole rig to the bottom of the lake[emoji16] Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. Not sure what your desired fish species is but you may want to try a little deeper if looking for lake trout. I haven't fished Owasco in a while but my gut feeling is you aren't getting your presentations deep enough. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. Copper is to brittle would kink and break in the releases. Also copper would greatly increase blow back. I use 50 lb berkley big game have minimal fleas. The heavyweight lines the fleas can't get a hold of it. I splice in a section of the heavy mono when the fleas are bad. I really don't think copper would work for the application you are wanting to use it. Also be expensive flea deterrent Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. I tried to add a picture but it doent show up. Not sure why. Seems to me looking back on a lot of photos I have August and September show the lake having the green color to it the most. I think Lewis is right about the formation of the thermal clone holding the warm water on the surface not allowing the waters to mix. That's the thing just bought the boat. I hate to have it be a lawn ornament on one hand. It will never sell the way it is now. On the other hand 10,000 dollars is the install price for the new crate motoralmost doubling what I played for the boat in the first place Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Lake Ontario United mobile app

The same marina/ boat dealer was the business that did the winterization and replaced the water pump for me last November. They were the last people to do any kind of mechanic work on the boat what so ever except me replacing a battery Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I know I have electric ignition but as far as a brand I guess I don't know. I guess I'm at the mercy of the gods at this point I'm waiting for the mechanic at Frontenac to look closer at the boat they were swamped with other things and he hasn't been able to run any diagnostic tests on it yet. If it is a blown motor would it be possible to go back on the marina/ boat dealer that sold the boat to me. It seems that in selling a boat if you market your self as a boat dealer/ broker you would be held liable for some period of time for majior repairs especially when the consumer has been reassured numorus time everything is mechanically sound and in proper working order. This wasn't a road side deal on Craigslist from a private seller. Like I stated before Fronanac marina on Cayuga lake is not the issue here I in no way want to mistakenly slander there business. They have done everything they could so far and plan to work with me in the future when there schedual frees up. Has anyone ever had luck going after a boat dealer for selling a poor product. That is a worst case senario Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
