  1. I sarted fishing Lake Ontario 2 years ago, I only fished for Kings in the summer and fall which has hooked me to the lake. Im bringing my boat down for the spring Brown Trout bite. Ill be down the first week and last week of April and again in May fishing out of Oswego and Mexico. My plan was to run sticks on the flatlines off my boards, Chinook divers with spoons off the corners and spoons on the riggers. We have a good variety of Moonshine, Stingers, Bay Rats, Rapala, Smithwicks and Northeast Trollers. Couple questions I have: What is a good speed for browns? Certain depth or area in April to concentrate on? Thanks for all the help!
  2. They should not slip, my riggers came terminated from the factory. Guess I should have looked much closer!
  3. Looking for a set of (2) Walker Clincher Downrigger Terminators.
  4. Thats what a few people have said now around the lake! Noone around me has any in stock! All they have is the cannons. Ill have to look around online. Thank you!
  5. Well I finally upgraded my riggers to a set of Scotty 1116 Propacks. I love them with the exception of the terminators. After 2 days of trolling I noticed when I pulled in the ball and my FishHawk probe that the crimps have let the cable slip thru and bind up. (Pictures Attached). Not a fan of this set up anyway so I need to upgrade the terminator what does everyone recommend? Thanks!

  7. Thank you everyone for the input! I ended up getting a set of Scotty 1116 ProPacks. Got a heck of a deal on them so it was hard to pass up! Tight Lines Everyone!
  8. To start off I came down from Maine last August with my boat and a good friend and we fished Lake O for the first time and had decent success. We boated over 35 fish in 7 days and lost a few. I plan on making monthly trips now I have a ton of brown trout spoons but a very limited selection of Stingrays and mag spoons. I was looking to buy a decent set of 40-50 spoons for the summer bite May-August. I wasnt sure what sizes or basic colors to stick with. I have a variety of flasher fly, meat rigs, dipsys but I definitely need to add to my spoon selection! Mainly fish out of Mexico and Oswego. Any info would be awesome. I research and read alot on here and really have learned a ton from everyone! Thanks everyone!

  10. Haha I love fishing Lake O...totally different fishery then Maine! Well worth the 9 hour drive
  11. Thanks for all of the input. I'll be deciding soon on what to switch over to!

  14. He does make great stuff! I got some tournament rig flys from him and landed some nice Kings!
  15. I fish in Maine a lot for Salmon and Trout but I recently started fishing Lake Ontario more and don't mind the travel down from Maine. I have a 21ft Islander with 4 Cannon UniTroll 10STX manual downriggers. Im not 100% sold on Cannon I've had a ton of problems with 2 of my current riggers while the other 2 have been great. Im looking for recommendations and reviews on a pair of electrics in the 1,000-1200 to replace two of my manuals. Open to all brands never owned electrics before and would like to have some feedback from folks who use them! Thanks Everyone!
