I chase land locked stripers when alewife come in to shallow water to spawn earlier in the year. I assume they do something similar on the fingers? If so maybe that time of year would increase chances for better night fishing. Water temps would also be more conducive for predator fish higher in water column or in shallow. I’m not so worried about being at out at night. I actually do a lot of night fishing and have lights and proper safety/nav equipment. Just I’ve more focused on stripers and walleye. Sounds like most people don’t do it on fingers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So I’ve been trying to get to Cayuga or Owasco for a while now. Can’t ever seem to get a full day to come up fishing. Was thinking about making the drive up one evening but was wondering if it’s worth trying to troll into the dark. Say 11 or 12 o’clock at night. I’ve never tried it. I’m just trying to justify all the driving hours to get some fishing in.Does anybody have any luck trolling at night for trout or salmon?If so how does the pattern change? Move in shallow? Fish higher in column? Maybe not troll at all? Switch to jigging or casting? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Even if it’s just telling me I’d be wasting my time. You may be right, I’m not sure what you have for riggers but I think cannons have 25 amp breakers on them but I’m sure they operate at a much lower amperage. Maybe somebody on here knows or you could test one with a meter pulling up your heaviest weight. Dual output would probably solve your problem though if you can find one with that high amperage rating on both outputs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have not done it on a boat but have done it at work for sensitive electronics that need a solid 12v from a solar charging system. There’s no reason it won’t work. Yes I have done that in the past. It worked ok. This is an aluma craft trophy 205. It’s probably closer to 2500-3000 lbs but I’m betting the 36v still won’t be enough to be the stand alone propulsion for trolling plugs, cranks at 2-2.5 for extended periods. Hi all, was wondering if a 36v is going to be enough for pulling around a 21’ boat while trolling? I have a trophy 205 that needs a tm but wondering if it will move it well enough. If you have one on a 21’ boat what’s your top trolling speed? I know I’ll probably need a kicker but can’t afford that right now. I could troll all day in a 17’ boat with 24v Terrova up to 3.5 mph but the trophy is a lot bigger. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
