new fisher

hello,

I just started picking up fishing in the last year and I simply love it. I have been fishing in local ponds and creeks near by and this weekend I was thinking about fishing in lake Ontario. I don't have a boat so i will be fishing off the pier( charlotte beach) and I was wondering if i can get some advice from some off you more experienced fishers. Such as bait( live preferably), what pound line i should use and etc. Any help or advice would be very appreciated. thanksss

what rod and reel are you using?

i am using a 6ft ugly stick rod with a shakespeare reel
