Research boat

My brother said he was watching a research boat out in front of his place on Johnson's creek last night . They were in what he thought was 150 ft of water .

Marine Traffic says it's the NOAA research ship THOMAS JEFFERSON.  Headed towards Oswego.

 

 

 

Hopefully doing some beneficial research (and not looking for "blue quaggas" for the pool.    )

Actually, it's mission is mapping the lake bottom which hasn't been done in many years.  Hopefully it contributes to the habitat enhancement project.
