I like running the same type of setup, but instead of a sinker, I'll use a Swedish Pimple or a heavy tungsten jig.  Most the water we fish is relatively shallow though so we don't need too much weight to get down reasonably fast.

Sounds good. We use a lot of Kastmaster's and that works good too.
