oswego Oswego County Fishing Report for May 8, 2018

Lake Ontario report:

According to Capt. Andy Bliss:

A little tip for when you are faced with very turbid/dirty water. Switch to brighter baits and larger baits. We were presented with mud water Sunday so I put a few Bay Rat long shallows in and the fish really seemed to pick them out of the spread.

According to Capt. Andy Grisenthwaite of Broad Horizons Charters:

Browns in the shallows are active and bass are starting to wake up. If you chose to sort through them, there are some quality browns along with a few steelhead and an Atlantic or two. Lake trout in 120 to 155 feet of water are doing well with some good size too. We chose to go for kings Sunday afternoon and were not disappointed. Springtime is awesome! So far the 2018 season is off to a great start!
