  5. darryl choronzey Question for ya - answer when you can i know the perch are biting -lol. Has any organization or individual done any reports or studies to show the economical impact that the sport fishery has on The Canadian economy? and when i say organization i am referring to none governing one such as a charter club, fishing club, etc.?
  6. Too funny Brian..... I have heard rumors that he is migrating to the "dark side" lmao.
  7. Gill-t A private study was done as a college project by a group of "to be" biologist" and the results came back and the lake trout had equal to or less than the same parts per million. Before you comment ...yes yankee troller i defended lake trout....lol
  8. cold steel or chasin tails will break your balls and catch fish LOL
  9. Wanted to add that hopefully this thread will stay well written and educated discussion as people /add to it. Discussions are great but hopefully it stays ongoing without the childish add ons and finger pointing.
  10. Excellently stated and written Vince. I have attends countless meetings with the governing bodies as well as was a member of the Lake Ontario stakeholders. As you and many others very well know we have been pushing and stressing for a stocking increase for a very long time.....but it always has been pushed aside for one reason or another......hiring freezes, money issues, factory issues etc. I fully agree with all of your statements and observations. The need for a true predator/prey balance, chinook stocking increase is long over due.
  11. Tipping is not a city in japan lmao. Go on a offshore charter on the ocean they pretty much mandiate and dictate what you will tip captain and or mate.
  12. Tom Burke cold steel as mentioned or Andy bliss Chasin tail charters. Good guys know their stuff have fun and you will catch fish
  13. Exactly!!!! well said bud. It's about the love of the chase the experience and having fun > if we make enough to cover all expense for the year, make boat payments and maybe some new toys - it was a good year $ wise lol. You know im the same way will leave 50 browns to boat 12 sharks! Also if you are worried about fuel this is the wrong game for ya lol

  18. Another good weekend off rochester for us. Started in 170 fow and grabbed some kings (up to 20lbs) and our first coho of the season. Riggers 45-72 down, wires 125 and 175, 10 color core all took fish on the 165-220 fow. SS spoons in NBK and gold on the riggers, Mag green dolphin on the core, and Green echip/ito luca fly on 175 wire and gator spinny/ito disco ball fly on 125 wire all took fish. Moved out about 9:30 to look for steel. Found a scum line with a real good break out in 400-450 for. Shallow riggers and boards with 2 shot got the steelies going and surface lake trout. Anything orange -spoons, sticks, "king me" ito fly with orange 6" spinny all going good. Steelhead real long and skinny - filleting showed that all the steelies and lake trout stomachs FULL of bug. ALOT OF HATCHING FLIES AROUND all afternoon. only other note was we never marked any bait once we past 275' fow. out again this week and weekend will post asap. Tight line and fish on.
  19. Barry- what's that saying i heard a long time ago......."even a blind squirrel can find a nut" Laughing my boys off!!!!! you gotta get back up here in august. also did you get them spinnies?
  20. Wow is all i can say, the lake is continuing to put out unreal numbers of fish....with 30+ hook ups a day the normal for the past 5 weeks! Lake ontario is on fire! This past weekend we had some first timers with 3 boys on board so we decided to stick with a brownie program. Started off slow till we got past shipbuilders and found some clearer water- solid mud from river to just past shipbuilders. Once we found a pocket of greener water all heck broke loose amd limited on browns in a short time and a few jumbo smallies we tossed back.Mostly cookie cutters but some in 8-10lb range. best water was from cross to just before webster pier. Best depth was the 12-18 foot range. only took 3 or 4 fish on sticks (black/silver, black/gold) with 2 large split shot 125' back all the rest chewed spoons off riggers and the boards. Wonder bread/silver cup and dirty white boy glow cup early then NBK and anything green/black/silver on it. We swung out on way home to 60' -80' range looking for some coho or steel. no luck on them but had a few king go on the riggers. We stayed in that same range to about Ibay and loaded up on suspened lakers. All but one was over the slot limit. The kids where loving them. Spin doctors (white green dot and albino gator) with ITO black fin tuna and go irish flies on riggers 15-45 down and divers 75' and 120' out. The kids had a ball! will be out this week and back fishing for the kings post as soon as i can. tight lines, sharp hooks and fish on!
