Billy - Congrats to you and your entire crew on placing 4th in the derby! My overall impression of the derby was nothing but positive. It was very well organized, timely and just loads of fun. Saturday night dinner/raffle party was a blast as well (of course the "eye guy" had the best view of the night). Everything was just very well done and I am glad to see this tournament finally hit the states with such success. Here are a couple more pics from the trip: Pegasus

Went up to Alex Bay last weekend and had a lot of fun (as the family always does when we go up there). I caught this little fellas off the docks on 6 lb mono, nightcrawler & bobber. Actually (incase you couldn't guess), that is a picture of me with a replica mount of the World Record muskie caught right there up in the 1000 islands. Fish weighted just an ounce under 70 lbs! We had a great time and it was nice to relax and do some pike/bass fishing. Here are some more pictures from our trip: Chad on the Docks fishing at the Riveredge... nothing has changed in 27 years of going up there. New boat houses (located near Pine Tree Point Resort) A BIG house on an island A SMALL house on an island (island is called "Just Enough Island") The famous Boldt Castle Right side of Boldt Castle Officially the smallest island in the 1000 islands. An island is an island when it is above water 365 days a year and has at least one tree on it. Who knew? "The Border Bridge" My only excuse for not fishing every waking hour while I was up there. Say Hi to Kate! Back of Heart Island (Boldt Castle) If you ever get the chance... I'd highly recommend taking a trip up to the islands. Its a world class fishery and one of the most gorgeous places I have ever seen. Its no wonder our entire family makes it up there on a yearly basis. Chad

In 1-week this thread will be turned into a link to the new calendar and there will no longer be any posts here. This transition will take place in 1-week from now. Please look over any of the posts here as they will all soon be deleted forever. If you see any of interest please consider re-posting them on the new calendar. This is being done to keep the board clean and not confuse members as to why there are two different "calendar" sections. We want all event/date driven topics to be posted on the new Calendar feature now. Consider this simple house-keeping to help the board stay clean and straight-forward. Thanks! Chad

My current project (and the main topic of the next State of the LOU) will be the re-introduction of a full featured calendar. I don't want to give too much away yet, but did want to let everyone know what I have been working hard on here. The most exciting part of the new calendar is ability to differentiate between public, group and private events. Private events can ONLY be seen by yourself and no one else - great for keeping track of anniversaries, charter/fishing dates, birthdays, vacations, etc. The official planned public launch of the new calendar is currently May 4th. At that time, the calendar will be noticeably absent of events so any help I could get inputting public events would be greatly appreciated by all. Pro members will also get to see a "Calendar Quick View" of the next 7 days of events right on the homepage (located right above the live chat area) - really nice feature for Pros to keep up to date all the time with current lake events - See Image Below: Pro 7-Day Quick View Anyways, I have already said more then I should have but this was just to give everyone a headsup to the newest feature coming to LOU. Enjoy your weekend - Chad

Haha - Thanks guys. My guess is if you wish to order something online, you can probably call them and just say you saw a certain product online and put in the order over the phone. I know there are currently no plans to turn the site into an ecommerce site but at the same time they wanted a site that did more than just give visitors products to look at and I think the site accomplishes this pretty well. On a side note, I will be heading up to the 1000 islands next weekend and will be stopping by to see the store for the first time in person. Should be fun! Chad

working on fishing related websites, golfing or hanging with the family. How about you?

Spike, They run the entire site from a back end admin panel. As soon as they get around to populating different Categories with information, then you will see stuff appear. The site is only a day or two old so it will take them a while to get everything populated as they have LOTS of stuff. Hope this helps - Chad
