  1. In 1-week this thread will be turned into a link to the new calendar and there will no longer be any posts here. This transition will take place in 1-week from now. Please look over any of the posts here as they will all soon be deleted forever. If you see any of interest please consider re-posting them on the new calendar. This is being done to keep the board clean and not confuse members as to why there are two different "calendar" sections. We want all event/date driven topics to be posted on the new Calendar feature now. Consider this simple house-keeping to help the board stay clean and straight-forward. Thanks! Chad
  2. My current project (and the main topic of the next State of the LOU) will be the re-introduction of a full featured calendar. I don't want to give too much away yet, but did want to let everyone know what I have been working hard on here. The most exciting part of the new calendar is ability to differentiate between public, group and private events. Private events can ONLY be seen by yourself and no one else - great for keeping track of anniversaries, charter/fishing dates, birthdays, vacations, etc. The official planned public launch of the new calendar is currently May 4th. At that time, the calendar will be noticeably absent of events so any help I could get inputting public events would be greatly appreciated by all. Pro members will also get to see a "Calendar Quick View" of the next 7 days of events right on the homepage (located right above the live chat area) - really nice feature for Pros to keep up to date all the time with current lake events - See Image Below: Pro 7-Day Quick View Anyways, I have already said more then I should have but this was just to give everyone a headsup to the newest feature coming to LOU. Enjoy your weekend - Chad
  3. Welcome to the site Frank and Patty - glad to have you aboard finally!
  4. Nice report Pops. This weekend looks promising to get back out there. C
  5. Haha - Thanks guys. My guess is if you wish to order something online, you can probably call them and just say you saw a certain product online and put in the order over the phone. I know there are currently no plans to turn the site into an ecommerce site but at the same time they wanted a site that did more than just give visitors products to look at and I think the site accomplishes this pretty well. On a side note, I will be heading up to the 1000 islands next weekend and will be stopping by to see the store for the first time in person. Should be fun! Chad
  6. Welcome aboard OS! Glad you found us
  7. working on fishing related websites, golfing or hanging with the family. How about you?
  8. Spike, They run the entire site from a back end admin panel. As soon as they get around to populating different Categories with information, then you will see stuff appear. The site is only a day or two old so it will take them a while to get everything populated as they have LOTS of stuff. Hope this helps - Chad

  18. Hey Mark - I know that Fat Nancy's tried the whole ecommerce thing with the last website and it wasn't very successful so this time around they decided they wanted to make it more of an information portal with the ability to post the latest deals/specials in the store along with fishing reports and other information local the area. They will also be able to post about new products that come in and stuff like that. You might be able to call the store then directly and order the product and have them ship it to you, but there will not be an ecomm option to order directly through the website. As far as the ETA goes - as soon as possible. I just completed the frame work of the site and now I am moving on to the Content Management System (CMS). After that I will be tidying up the graphics and then giving the crew at Fat Nancy's a tutorial on how to post to the site anytime they wish. There will be an option to subscribe via email to the latest deals and specials they offer as well. Hope this helps! Chad
  19. Anyone care to take a guess who might be in the middle of designing that new site... So far so good... stay tuned for the new website coming soon
  20. Paul - that is really excellent advice! I can't wait to hear what some of the other captains have to say with respect to this topic.
  21. That is actually a good question Tim. The reasoning behind the xx.xxxxxx format was to get the points to display correctly within the Google Maps program. There is a way to convert it and Katherine would know more about that then myself. Let me ask you then, is the current format (xx.xxxxxx) usable/preferred or would xx.xx.xxx be more helpful (or both)? I do not have enough experience with how the GPS coordinates are actually used to know and thus we just used the same format that Google Maps liked for the GPS coordinates. Thanks Tim! Chad
  22. Welcome to the site bigleis! I think you found a good home Looking forward to your reports.
  23. Good catch Tom! Had one extra space in there that wasn't suppose to be there. Should work good now. If anyone else finds any similar issues please let me know. These were all done manually so your help is always appreciated. .... and thank you all for the kind words, glad you enjoy it
  24. Brian - Welcome to the site Glad to have aboard, lots of great guys here. Enjoy! Chad
