  1. I prefer to use "Lifecalk" instead of silicone. It seems to adhere to the fiberglass better than silicone and won't separate from the fiberglass over time. It can also be applied on wet surfaces and holds up longer. I usually squeeze some into holes before I put the bolt through. Just my personal preference .
  2. I just lost $250 on the last play of the half. OUCH!!!!!!!
  3. I'm pulling for the Cards but I'll settle for getting the final score on my super bowl pool. More $$$ for fishing stuff!!
  4. A new job for my wife so I can afford the slip fees!!!!
  5. I would also like to here some reasons people are against it. So far 10 people said no.
  6. Just finished signing the petition. Hope it works!!!
  7. I also got one. Thanks to the heads up from everyone I just deleted it
  8. Thanks for the reply Jimski2. I am having problems with my fish finder "ping" interfering with my VHF radio. On a couple of channels, mostly 8, my squelch goes off every time the fish finder pings. I also don't seem to be marking fish or bait if I get into deeper water. I'm thinking the transducer might be bad, but that's just a guess. I wanted to get this re wired any way and am hoping it might help.
  9. I'm having some interference in my electronics so I decided to re wire the electronics I have added. I was wondering what gauge wire should I use to do this. I have a VHF radio, Depth Raider, GPS, Fish Finder and 4 Big Jon downriggers. Right now they are all wired into a terminal block on the bulk head (under the helm). I want to wire them directly to 2 seperate batteries using Johnny Ray terminal connectors. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Rick
  10. Fished early in front of the river from 20 to 40 feet. Took one 15# King on a green J-Plug 16 over 25 and one small Steelhead on a Bloody nose Silver J-Plug on a Slide Diver 30' back and 35 out. Picked up and ran out to 100'. Landed 2 Steelhead. one on a black and white Nk mag and the other on a red Michigan Stinger on a slider down 55'. Both fish came over 150' of water. Hooked another steelhead but lost it after a short fight. had a great day on the lake. Perfect weather and light winds. Made it tough to pull the boat for the season but won't be able to get out the next couple of weekends. Already looking forward to the spring!!!!!
  11. Got set up at 6:30 a.m. Worked between 20 and 40 feet in front of the river. Took a king around 18lbs on a NK glow frog. 20 down over 30 ft. One other fish,a small Steelhead on an Apex behind a mountain dew Spindoctor 25 down over 35 ft. Off the water at noon. Saw a few other fish taken but not alot of action for us today. At least it was a beautiful morning to be on the water.
  12. I could also use a couple of 12lbers in the Rochester area.
  13. Not sure who, if anyone is renting out the slips at the Newport House but there are a lot of empty spots.
  14. Here's something new (AT LEAST TO ME) from Rapala. http://www.vimageoutdoors.com/servlet/t ... erk/Detail
  15. We used 30# Flea Flicker last year. Worked great when running clean spoons but did get alot of twist with spinnys. This year switched to 20#FF and seems to work much better. Even when the swivels, knots and downrigger cable is loaded with fleas the line stays clean. Just need to use good ball bearing swivels to reduce the twist when running spin doctors. There is still some twist with spinnies but I think not having to get fleas off a line when fighting a fish is worth it. Also, so far no problems with break offs.
  16. Frank, I saw your boat was out but you must have been back in when I tried to call you. I didn't see much on the fish finder but I have my doubts that it's working right. There weren't any boats around me but I was finding temps from 42 to 52, 75 to 95 down so I stayed in the area. I probably won't be back out until next weekend so who knows what I'll find then.
  17. Short trip. Fished from about 9:00 until noon east of the bay. Went 2 for 2. One small Coho and one steelhead. Both came on a slider with the rigger set at 85' over 130 . The coho took a Stinger NBK ant the Steelhead a blue and silver Blade runner ( Sammy Pac). Had good temp down 75 to 95 feet but couldn't find the big ones.
  18. Started at 6:30. headed north out of the bay and set up in about 90 ft. Took first fish at 130 ft of water.About a 6# steelhead hit a monkey puke nk 28 off a slider with the rigger set 55 foot down. Second fish, also a Steelhead came on a slider, stinger NBK with the rigger set 90 down over 190 ft of water. Then got a small king, About 5 or 6 lbs on a watermellon NK 28 90 over 130. called it quits at 9:30. Wind and waves started be more of pain then it was worth.
  19. YodaMage, Welcome to the Forum. I think I used to work with your father at the " Big yellow Box" in research. I haven't seen him in about 1 1/2 years. Hope alls well with him. Things have been a little slow for me in the I-Bay area. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get out as much as in previous years but with a little luck that will change. If your out in the area give me a shout on the radio and we'll try to get things going. Rick ( Bad Habit)
  20. First time out in close to 3 weeks. Got a late start, Fished from 7:00 until almost noon. Started in 60' and trolled out to 200'. Slow morning, went 2 for 2 on small One on Black and silver Sammy Pac, Blade Runner mag and one on Black and orange NK 28. Both were cheated with the rigger down 80' over 160' Only saw a handful of other boats out. When we left the dock at Mayers there was only 1 car in the parking lot and no boat trailers at all. Is the price of gas keeping people off the water or was it the weather forecast?
  21. During the spring derby Bayside tackle at the south end of Irodiquoit bay had a very limited selection. Don't know what they have now.
  22. Thanks for the report. Hoping to head out of I-Bay tomorrow afternoon. Did you run anything up high off boards? I haven't been out in almost three weeks so any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Rick
