    FFL

Does anyone know someone with a FFL (Federal Firearms Liscense) that would be willing to accept shipment of a shotgun for me for a feee? If you do, PM me here. Thanks.
  4. I don't have a boat, but am willing to kick in some money for gas... Seems like a great idea you have started.. PM me with an address to send the $$ to.
  5. Cuddeback Attack Trail Camera... Only used a couple of times and looks like brand new.. Includes mounting bracket that comes with it and user manual. There is nothing wrong with this camera... It takes great pictures and video... I just don't like it as much as I do another brand of camera that I use. $150... Shipping $10 more.. PM me if intereted.
  6. you hit the nail on the head with the 10/22... It just works all the time.. I have had mine for almost 10 years (..got it on clearence at walmart for about $140 for stainless steel model)... I have never had a jam or misfire (knock on wood) and I can count on 1 hand the number of times I have cleaned it.. I oil it on a regular basis.
  7. Those memories are going to be etched in his mind forever.. Well done!!! I wish I had someone taking me out turkey hunting at age 12... I was fortunate to have a father who loved to fish, so we spent endless hours together out on the boat. Those are the best memories I have of him!!
  8. SUV has miles, but they are highway miles driving from Hamlin into the City.. My wife takes awesome care of her vehicles.. Always does what the shop tells her when they tell her to. Brand new Firestone tires. If you haven't shopped for tires in a while, you are in for a shock, $800 later......
  9. Bump.. Price Reduced again... This is way below blue book value
  10. Price reduced to $5,300.. A lot of vehicle for the price.. $800 in new tires 2 months ago..
  11. I can't even imagine what that fish would be worth.. You hear some of the stories about how much captains get for large tuna at the docks.. This one would be worth a small fortune!!
  12. Does anyone have any experience with this caliber bullet? I was reading up on it the past couple of days and the ballistics look fantastic.. I was considering a .17, but i like the heavier bullet with the .204... I am actually looking for a rifle that my wife can comfrtably shoot. We have been having an problem with Coyotes around our barn, so if nothing else, it will give her some piece of mind. That said, I want something that she can be proficient with and it isn't going to beat her up. I have also considered .22 hornet, .22 mag and .223... I just really like the ballistics on the .204 and .17 (reality is, it will be something new for me to "play" with as well).. Interested to get some feedback.. Tom
  13. Chromeslayer.. Help me with the set-up. I am assuming what you mean is that instead of setting up perpendicular to the trail, you want to set up for quartering movement? Do I have that right?
  14. Chromeslayer, I have only had the Cuddeback Attack for about 4 months, so I am still forming my opinion on it. The biggest issue I have had with it so far is that it does not seem to trigger as much as I would expect (when it is in "regular' mode, not the Attack mode). I say that because I have put it on some of my "bread & butter" trails and have got fewer pictures than I have historically got with other cameras. During the fall, when it was wet, there would be all sorts of fresh tracks going in both directions and I would only have a few new pictures. I know there is more movement than what the camera was telling me. One of the features that I like on the Scoutguards is that you can set the sensitivity (L/M/H).. So depending on the conditions in a specific area, I will adjust the sensitivity and that has worked really well for me. I don't see where there is a similar adjustment on the Cuddeback. The picture and video quality on the Cuddeback is fatastic (..probably the best of any camera that I have had).. It is nice to be able to take a picture and really zoom in on a deer without the picture distorting to much. I am interested to get your opinion and best pratices with it as you use it more. The issues I am having may very well be operator error... It certianly would not be the first time!!
  15. Capt Vince, I am interested to the responses you get to this questions. It is almost like polling poeple to see what brand pickup or snowmobile they like.. I will give you my opinion/perspective, which have been formed over the past 6 years. I have used a number of different cameras, some IR and some flash. I would classify myself as a fairly "heavy user"... I have used Bushnell, Cuddeback (including a new Attack this year), Stealth Cam and others.. Over the past 3 years, I would say by far my favorite cameras have been the Scoutguard 550s. They are not as popular as some of the other brands, but I have had 2 of them for the past 3 years and they perform great. They don't seem to bother the deer, the trigger is pretty quick, they are small and the battery life is incredible. http://scoutguard550.com/store.html They do not perform flawlessly. I have yet to come across a camera that does. They have their pluses and minuses, but they are the most consistent cameras that I have used over the past 3 years (camera and video mode both). I have never tried a high end camera like a Reconyx (I have never spent more than $230 for a camera), so there are probably better cameras out there than what I have used. There are 2 reasons for that.. First is the price ($450 to $500) and second, I would rather have 2 $225 cameras than $1 $450, so I could cover more ground. Like I sad, I am curious to read the other responses because I am always looking for proven products that I can add to my arsenal....
  16. Just another suggestion... Savage 220, 20 gauge bolt action slug gun... I got one last year and even with 3" Federal Slugs, it is a joy to shot... Very little recoil and the accu-trigger really is a great learning tool for a noive shooter (...or an experienced shooter for that matter)... Not to mention that the accuracy of these shotguns is incredible. I have had 3 shot groups at 100 yards with all 3 holes touching.. plus, the knock down power of the sabots are fantastic.. I am using the federal 3" Barnes Expanders and after 3 deer, there has been no tracking required. It is a great weapn and really is a pleasure to shoot.... Just my 2 cents..
  17. Lund SSS, Just out of curiosity, what is the effective range of that 460 mag if you have a good rest?
  18. Ray, I have a stupid question.... I have had a good amount of success still hunting, but it has primarily been when there is "soft" snow on the ground or everything is saturated and quite... When things are "crunchy" is there anyhing that you do to ensure you are moving slow enough? I always feel like no matter how slow I am going, I am going to fast.. I guess maybe count to a hundred between steps or something simple like that.. Just curious to see what others do to ensure they are going slowwwwwwwwwwwwwww.
  19. I was hunting an open field Saturday morning and had a 6 point chase a doe and her fawns into the field... he was on her, but she wanted nothing to do with him.. I dropped her and let him walk to get bigger.... There has been so little shooting this year that I am not sure how pressured the deer are... On my property, the deer seem to be acting like they do during bow season.. I am curious to see what happens when the tempertures drop later this coming week.. I am hopeful that the mature bucks will start to move some more and start feeding during the day to get ready for winter.. We will see...
