The diver setup that im using is an Okuma Classic Pro GLT (10' diver rods) with an Okuma Cold Water reel (any 30 series Okuma will work) loaded with 1000' of Blood Run wire. A large quality swivel tied on directly with a simple ovehand knot and absolutely never any crimps. A twilly tip is not absolutely necessary but highly recommended and I never use a snubber. Majority of the time I use Mag divers because they track tighter to the boat but there are times where standard size divers have their use. I keep my leader lengths are 8-10'. The precision trolling guide is a huge help with depths.

8-10' leaders with divers leader length on the riggers changes constantly. 10'-70' w/ 15-35' being the norm. depends on depth, water clarity, etc.

Your gonna need something bigger. Some guys can squeeze 500' on a Okuma 55 but i would suggest something bigger then that . Okuma soltera 50 or clarion 553

My 450' coppers get punished quite a bit by using them as 350' or 400' coppers. When i have coppers out on big boards, my releases never see anything but actual copper in them. I think guys baby their coppers a little too much at time. If you see a "bad" spot or a strand breaks just simply cut it back and splice it back together with a haywire twist. And I will tell you if you find yourself consistantly running 300' of your 450' copper then its time to invest in a 300' copper.

For leadcore and short coppers I would say yes. The issue with mono is the amount you can put on a reel vs. braid for backing. For long coppers 300'+ i would suggest nothing less than 50# braid. No need to "split" your copper. Best thing to do to get more use out of a long copper (like a 450) is to mark it every 100' or even 50' (w/ spray paint). It will give you a chance to run it as a 200, 300, etc.

My 2 cents I believe singles give you deeper and more solid hook ups but only once they are hook. I believe you are less likely to lose fish once a fish is hooked on a single hook. Once a fish is on, hes stuck. Rarely do you see a lighly hooked fish on a single (in comparison to a treble). The downside is the missed fish. Because of the lack of hook points fish have a better chance of simply avoiding the hook and in return providing clean misses. At the end of the day your landing percentage will be better then trebles. Trebles simply put more hooks in the water thus increasing the chance that you may stick one into a fish. I think trebles create more foul hooked or poorly hooked fish then singles. You will lose more fish while fighting them but with that being said a poorly hooked fish still gives you an opportunity to put it in the boat. Your landing percentage may be lower then singles but at the end of the day you will be given the chance to put more fish in the boat. My choice trebles
