  2. Thanks for the info! We're all set for the Niagara Open Division, just wanted to make sure we didn't have to attend the captain's meeting. Good luck to everyone in the LOC this week!
  3. Hey Chris, Did you tell the weigh stations to all record/report the weights the same - all lbs/oz's or lbs/decimals?
  4. I have another OPEN division question: do the captains of the open division need to attend the captain's meeting on Friday? Thanks!
  5. Hey Tom, For the Atommik Challenge: What port is it out of? Where are the boundaries of where one can fish? Where is the weigh-station? Thanks!
  6. When you registered online, you also had the opportunity to print your registration. I don't remember if there was one sent in the mail last year, but if you lost the original, the weigh station can call to get your registration number. This year they will need to make sure the weigh stations are all reporting the weights the same way: in lbs and oz's or in lbs and decimals. I.E. - a 34lb 15 oz fish is a lot heavier than a 34.14 lb fish!
  7. Jeff, Before 7am on the day you wish to start fishing it. You can register for it any time through the season.
  8. We are interested in fishing all three, but need a confirmation on the dates before we can commit. Thanks!
  9. Due to an overwhelming response for us to run the class set on a weekend, we have now scheduled the 2-class salmon/trout series for May 21st, from 8am - 5pm at the Sodus Point Lodge . The morning class will once again be the Spring Fishing Techniques and the afternoon class will be the Summer Kings class. Participants will each receive a grab bag of goodies provided by our class sponsors: Atommik, Warren's Tackle, Screwy Louie's Sportshop, LOU, and the Sodus Point Lodge. Registrations are now open, and will run through May 19th. Cost is still $30/class or $50 for both classes. Register early, as we are limiting the number of registrants to 12 per class! Information and registration for the classes can be found on our team website: www.FKSportfishing.com We hope to see you there!
  10. Team Finders Keepers is in! Last year we did well in the derby winning several days, with each day being $100 and roll-over days were more. Looking forward to a bigger, better tournament this year!
  11. Hey Tom, Do you have dates for the three challenges? Thanks & looking forward to a great year!
  12. Thanks Maisie!! It was great having you and Rodney at the classes! You'll have to keep me updated on how you're making out on the water this season! Just to clarify, as we have had some concern over the nature of these courses, these are courses that take place on dry land using our vessils (on trailers) to demonstrate techniques/methods. We are not chartering in any form or capacity. These classes are specifically designed to help anglers become more successful on the water. We will be running another set of classes later this spring on a Saturday, date TBD - stay tuned!!
  13. Today we received a generous sponsorship donation from Screwy Louie's Sportshop, and each participant will be receiving one new echip or spin doc in one of our top producing color patterns from last year! We currently have several participants signed up and have room for several more! Registration is open through tomorrow evening!
  14. Keep the registrations coming! We're taking registrations until the 20th.
  15. Hello Everybody, New to Lake Ontario fishing or having trouble putting fish in the boat? Want to have a better chance at putting a fish on the Spring LOC board? The Finders Keepers Pro Sportfishing Team is going to be hosting a series of fishing classes this year to show new anglers the techniques of how to put fish in the boat and invites seasoned veterans to share new tricks. The first two classes will be held at the Sodus Point Lodge on April 22nd: Spring Fishing Techniques from 8am-12pm and Summer Salmon Fishing Techniques from 1pm-5pm. This will be an informative, hands-on training and demonstration of the techniques that have made our team so successful over the past few years. In addition to the basics, we will be covering knot-tying (including the tournament tie for re-tying flies), various ways of running sliders/cheaters, lure making (creating your own color variations), running wire, copper, and leadcore rods, using our vessils to demo our different techniques, discuss different fishing conditions/scenarios, and much more! The classes have been sponsored by Atommik, Warrens Tackle, Davenport's Tackle, and the Sodus Point Lodge (possibly more sponsors to come) with free tackle grab bags to be given out to all participants as well as a raffle for other gear/tackle. The more participants, the more gear we will have to give away, but each class is limited to the first 20 anglers who register. More information about the Finders Keepers Team, the class series, and class registration can be found at our website: http://www.FKSportfishing.com And informational fliers can be picked up at the following tackle shops: Warren's Tackle Davenport's Tackle Oswego Salmon Shop Fat Nancy's Or you can also drop me a PM for answers to questions or for more info. The cost of each class is only $30, or take both classes for $50. With gas prices soaring, spend your money on the water catching fish rather than washing lures!! We'll see ya on the 22nd!
  16. The perch will be there until the spawn is over then they head out in the lake. Fish shallow. You can also get browns trolling small J7 stickbaits or small spoons in the main part of the bay and in and around the channel. Walleye are also around if you play the weedbeds. Bullhead will be showing up once we get some warm water moving down the creeks. Good luck!
  17. What can I say, I like to dream... Heard tonight there will be 35 teams this weekend...
  18. Hey Steve, That's what we're hoping for!! We're not discouraged either, but being newbie's this year, we're not expecting to fill the Penn Yan with lunkers, but it would be nice to get some decent fish! Thank you to those who report on their trips and offer some tid bits of info!
  19. Yeah, I saw the pics from the tourney site with the same dudes holding the plaques. We'll do our best at it and if nothing else, we'll have some fun and hopefully put a couple 2+ lb'ers in the boat!
