  2. Decisions and info being transferred daily as continual decisions are made. THERE WILL be an Oswego Pro/Am. Not sure what the decision will be as in a name for the event or some of the finer details of its structure, there is a potential sponsor in the works to possibly carry a name for the event. We appreciate those who offered their ideas and opinions, we are reflecting back to what "was" very popular at one time and also what most are saying. Much of our time has been spent talking about the following and what we have come up with is this: -July 13/14 -No Communication -Pro 12 fish multi species 2 day -Am 9 fish multi species 2 day -Pro only event still possible, strongly planning on Am as well -Entry $300 Am/$700 Pro -Calcutta for those wanting to put more on the line -Payout 7 to 10 places (Dependent upon entries) -Old school style whiteboard placements for standings, (we would love to host the awesome trailer from 2012 but it may not be in the cards) -Non catered (hotdogs & hamburgs for sale) -Mandatory Observers -Ports of Oswego and Mexico Just a note: My 2013 A-TOM-MIK Invitational event WILL take place in 2013, a few had questioned due to my current involvement in this Tom
  3. I sold plenty last year, zero complaints It has a very low gear ratio but the crank configuration makes up for it, a lot better than the Penn 345 set up Highly recommended but beware it is a mammoth reel and the clicker is actually on the loud side I also have several of them on my boat and my g/f and also my 17 year old daughter fought a fair share of kings on them, I cant say they liked it very much but they did it !!! Tom
  4. Or there is always Petes boat, now that would be the ticket right there
  5. Many Oswego Captains have used the Maritime Consortium for this program, I was in it for over 10 years maybe you can google its contact, was like $100/season Drop Dave an E mail [email protected] he had asked me a few days ago for a few guys looking to mate, he does about 100 trips a season and needs a mate in the Oswego area I am sure you will not be the only one willing to work so good luck Tom

  7. All I can add to that at this point Matt is I assure you it's on Burkey's mind as well as many others who have loved the chase. But as much as the rest of everything else consuming many hopeful thoughts its an unknown. I am sure if it's possible it WILL happen, most of us will just have to watch it unfold and hope for the best !!! Tom

  11. Just wanted to drop a note that we have been working on material diligently for our seminar, our info will cover those much needed guidelines for the weekend angler or for the anglers who have the basics down but are looking for something more. We have also collected nice goody bags with key items in them for all, we are looking very forward to this days events. Most if not all of the requested info from those who took the time to note requests will be covered, if you are that normal weekend guy looking for that edge or that 1 small trick to put a fish in the boat, or even an up and coming tourney guy looking for the right direction we will have this info for you. Many new anglers are putting in much time as many of us have already done over the years chasing Lake Ontario Kings throughout different seasons. The almighty learning curve is ever broadening and the further we get into the years of our practice the more we need to focus on what it takes to generate strikes while maximizing our time. Most all of us can put a king or two in our boats on any giving day, but repetition and a higher success rate comes from experience and the desire to constantly learn. We have achieved these successes and are willing to share them with you !!! Pete and I are not full-time guys, just avid anglers frequenting Lake Ontario for mostly the tourney scene. We simply enjoy chasing Kings and the enjoyment of experiencing the tourney scene, we have each made it a huge part of our lives. Come see how its possible for us to turn our addiction into a success and how we've combined our skills to manage over 50 top 10 finishes in competitive events in the last 6 years alone. These are experiences of a lifetime offered by LOTSA, come soak it in !!! Tom
  12. I am not entirely sure how long the Pro/Ams have had the current discretion of "Pro" and "Am" in place. From what I know a "high %" of the ruling structure prior to "The big collapse caused from Unification" from the mid 00's was never much of an area of concern. These polls I have credited for many years now, as they always seem to stay inline with what the highest percentage of "players" want. So far this poll emits exactly what everyone has been wishing for and demanding since the Pro/Am's significant decline. The SADEST part is everyone knows this and they have know it all along. Including those making and/or carrying out the existing rules. The diversity of what is out there today on Lake Ontario as far as competitive angling is awesome but maybe only now taking a hit in the Pro/Am style events. This particular poll is simply favoring what most want to happen at Sodus as a replacement of what has currently been lost, an actual Pro/Am The popularity in 1 day events has proven itself, but as the diversity decreases a bit now with the loss of an actual Pro/Am those able to speak out and "place their wishes" from a poll are speaking out. As I break down the "same ole same ole" tally the same is yet evident "again" All numbers as of 12/30/12 Interest in Participating 57 votes (Yes anglers want to be involved on many levels) Two Day event [ 43 ] Friday and or Saturday [ 28 ] Saturday and or Sunday [ 30 ] (Obviously a toss up here: 6 or 1/2 dozen of the other) but interesting none the less Mixed species [ 47 ] Pro Division and Amateur Division [ 41 ] *Out of the 5 options you are able to poll these were the most heavily selected *EXACTLY WHAT A MAJORITY HAS WANTED ALL ALONG* Not really rocket science, anybody willing to "LISTEN" over the last few years already knew much of this key info, if No Communication vs Communication was offered as a 6th choice I would bet my favorite perch rods a majority would opt Closed as they have all along Tom
  13. Just an FYI Concerning the west end Pro/Ams I do not believe there to be a negotiable future committee calaboring so to say IMO However there is some good news concerning the east end: Talks have started on the east end concerning a continuance of the Oswego Pro/Am, just wanted to drop a note. I put in an initial plug about bringing back the east end Pro/Ams to where they were prior to unification Ie; A Pro and an Am division, Oswego is the topic for now. I had mentioned from input I have gathered I thought this would give a Pro/Am its best chance, its certainly what a majority seems to want Tom
  14. The weekend of the 2012 A-TOM-MIK Invitational there was a Pro/Am meeting held which Dex attended Dex really didn't have too much to say, I was sort of surprised, him and nick just sat there quietly????? No personal strong heartfelt feelings submitted, no raised voices full of past passions, and no mention of facts as to why he felt there has been a noticeable decline in interest? Still off the Soapbox Dex, or not taking my bait ?????? Dex ????? Then again maybe I was drinking a bit too much goose? Tom

  19. You'll fit right in Pete !! Fisherman/Redneck: All in the same ..... Walk around in the summer with a red neck as it's sunburned because you were out in the sun all day working/fishing Somewhat bold/outspoken? No different from many of the New Englanders vs. the redneck originators from the Southern US Fisherman/Rednecks are mostly pickup truck owners Own dogs, guns and drink cheap beer As Foxworthy said: Typically the glorious absence of sophistication If Pete ever yells out "Hey y'all, watch this!" I would run !!! Tom
  20. Have you had good luck with your Lund? I just purchased a second boat for a fall time perch boat it happens to be a Lund Pro Angler but an 18'model, interested in info on problems or success you've had, did you own yours since 2007? I will only use the boat about 2 months or 40 times a year each fall. Tom
  21. New Price $1175 has a graph that goes with the boat
  22. I have bought several anchor wizards, I feel they are over priced but they do work great, its not a rinky dink unit, it is well built and I have beat them to death with great luck I just spent about $400 including shipping on yet another one, this was my latest: AW-TS415 Tiller Mount with this AW-NP517 Nose Piece Have also used this: AW-WS150 Wizard System This is the site: http://www.anchorwizard.com/ In no way am I affiliated with this company, I actually have had issues with timely shipping, but I can not say enough about the durability, I use this on 16' to 18' small boats when perch fishing 30 to 70 fow pulling up a chain and a 30+ lb anchor Give it a look Tom
